Travelodge Davenport

I have been in my fair share of hotels during my travels but this is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. If I had the extra cash or if I had family members with me I would have left the day I got there. People drinking out of brown paper bags in the hall ways, outside in the car parks. This was a week I really want to for get.

I traveled to Davenport, Iowa, for a professional recertification refresher conference. The motel that I stayed was unclean and tiny. The bed linens were dirty. There were stains on the comforter and on the carpet. The "free wi-fi" was very spotty; lost connection consistently. I will not stay at this motel ever again.

We were in town for a family reunion. Stayed Thursday through Sunday. First morning many breakfast items were gone by 8 am. The room was nice and clean and the staff was very helpful. Friday night we woke at 4am because of someone going in and out of a nearby door over and over. Could've complained but I was too tired. Non smoking room but the hallway was filled with cigarette smell. Overall it was a decent stay besides the few problems that you will find anywhere.

The fact that we didn't shows that we are insane optimists. First, it smelled awful. Like about 90 years of cigarette smoke. Second, they were out of non smoking rooms with queen sized beds - the bedroom we had reserved, and paid a premium on. But! They offered us an "upgrade" - a jacuzzi room with a queen bed - but it was smoking. But, they promised, it smelled fine.Believing them, we accepted the room. And, compared to the hallway, it seemed fine, for about 2 minutes. Then the stench was awful. Also, the jacuzzi was just about the grossest thing I've seen, and the room had cigarette ashes everywhere. I didn't even inspect the bed. Which, if it was a queen, was the smallest size queen I've ever seen.I asked that we be switched to a full sized non-smoking room. The night counter lady gave me attitude, asked if we had "used" anything, argued with me about the bed size, and finally turned over a new room key.The new room was slightly better, stench wise, but not by much. Also, the bedspread was filthy - it even had blood spots on the reverse side. I should have packed us up then, but it was midnight, we were exhausted, and figured it'd be okay for a few hours.Well, not really. Someone kept knocking on doors near us. The smell was awful. I swore every bug in the world bit me. I will never stay in a Travelodge again, and I might eschew the entire Wyndham family of hotels. Their standards are not very high.

I went to Davenport Iowa for a wedding, basically this is a no thrills hotel. I stayed 3 nights, the only issue I did have is that the room was not cleaned my entire stay, I had to ask for towels each day because the staff did not replace them.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel has not been maintained very well. I would not recommend this hotel.

refridgerator and microwave in the room would have made the stay more enjoyable. hotel was in a great location, easy to find and clean. located close to the attractions we wanted to see. close to restaurants, had continental breakfast in the morning. all in all: good experience!

The hotel description said it was recently updated. Which meant there were new vanities installed. The room across the hall from me had very shady characters in it that kept their door open and sat in the door way to see who came up and down the hall. When I returned later on in the evening those same people had most of the room furniture out in the parking lot next to a grill and a number of other rooms had people sitting in the open hotel windows with loud rap music playing all watching each other. I highly recommend avoiding this hotel.

Lady at the counter asked if i had a bad stay and asked me if the fighting with her boyfriend woke me up witch it did at 3 am overall great location but wouldnt stay there again.

Despite not getting the right size bed paid for, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel people tried to accomodate our request, it's just that the hotel was booked. I wonder why the service between orbitz and the hotel wasn't smoother. For example when I signed the receipt it was not the correct address. Which is okay if the hotel is not suppose to have my address that would be nice to know. Also, it took 40 minutes to resolve whether we were going to get a the right size bed. I had to call orbitz an then orbitz had to call the hotel. Only to find out that the room was more expensive so I actually couldn't get a refund for the bed. Otherwise, I would order through orbitz and go back to this hotel.
