Never again at this motel!
As we settled into our room, another guest used their key and walked into our room. Lighting was very poor and floor lamp was unplugged. When we plugged it in, there was a short in the lamp. Guess that's why it was unplugged. TV remote would not work....assume it needed new batteries. The queen size bed was like sleeping in a hammock and the sheets would not stay on the bed so part of your body was laying on the bare mattress. The next morning, the shower would not drain. And the final straw....when the ice in the ice bucket melted, there were several bugs at the bottom of the water. I did mention all of this to the manager whose response was...I'll check it. No "I'm sorry", "how can we make it better". Nothing but he would check it. We're not going back to find out!

Decent for the money
The hotel was about what you would expect: not a great breakfast, dingy looking sheets, dated decorations. My one big complaint is that this is still a smoking hotel; even though we were at the end of the non-smoking hallway we still had to walk through smoking areas to get to our room. Even the hallways smelled of smoke because of how small the area was, and that wasn't conducive with my asthma. Get with the times Super 8, go non-smoking completely!!

Wedding Weekend
We stayed here one night for a friends wedding. The room was nice for the price. Bed comfortable, bathroom adequate, and area wasn't too noisy. Continental breakfast was good! Coffee, muffins, cereal, etc. Overall I'd say it was a good room for the price.

Good price and nice hotel
Check in was a breeze, the clerk simply looked up the reservation, saw it was prepaid and all I had to do was sign. The hotel overall was clean inside and out as well the room was clean with the a/c blowing. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in Davenport, plus the clerk [...]was friendly.

Short night's stay
This was a short night's stay en route through Iowa. The breakfast was decent and the room was appropriate for the price. An older hotel with obvious signs of wear. I would stay there again in transit, but not a vacation destination hotel.

A reasonable hotel
We stayed here while in town to visit grandkids & kids who have cats that my husband is allergic to. Staying in a hotel also gives us some quiet time. This hotel is a decent, basic place to sleep but offers no other amenities such as pool or exercise room which is fine with us. Breakfast hours were too short so they didn't match our schedule but the cook-it-yourself waffles did smell good. The hotel is older & could use some updating &/or replacement of furnishings -- couch in lobby needs cleaning, bed comforter in our room had burn hole, carpet needed stains removed, for example. We have stayed in all sorts of lodgings around the world & we know Super 8 is not a luxury hotel but it was just what we needed on this trip. Whether I would recommend this hotel would depend on what friends were looking for.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
There is a restaurant (Thunder Bay Grill) a short walk away that serves a super brunch on Sunday for a low price. The lunch & dinner menu has changed in the past few months so it now includes more "gourmet" selections & the prices are also more upscale. We liked the previous menu better.

Solid Experience
This was a good place to stop while doing some long distance traveling. I was able to check in late in the evening, get a good night's sleep, and take off early and rested the next morning. Very basic amenities, but basically what I needed.
