we were in iowa for a family visit, beds were very comfortable, motel had recently renovated so very clean. free breakfast was good, but bagels were the best.good location, right off I-80 , convenient to gas, food, stores.
Very friendly woman at desk at check-in. Followed-up with phone call to make sure room was alright. Room was clean and heat had been turned up prior to arrival to accommodate for exceptionally cold evening outside.
I reserved this hotel on Orbitz for 4 nights and got a confirmation e-mailed to me. When we went to check in, the hotel only had us down for 1 night and the type of room we reserved was not available. They did upgrade us to a jacuzzi room but
it only had 1 bed and our teenage daughter had to sleep on a rollaway. They also had to scrounge up a microwave and refrigerator that were supposed to be in the room but weren't. They were really nice about it but I don't understand exactly what happened with the Orbitz reservation. Also, we were charged more than what the Orbitz confirmation stated, and the manager was not there at check-out time so we could not talk to him about it.
The room was adequate for our short stay (one night). The room was clean and the view from our window allowed us to have the drapes open at all times (we were on the second floor). The person who checked us in was very accomodating and made sure
we had everything we needed. Did not use the dining facilities on site except to get coffee which was good.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
There are several fine restaurants within walking distance.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This is suppose to be a smoke free hotel. The second we walked into our room it wreaked of smoke. The furniture was all scratched up as well. We left immediately because it was such a terrible place.
The Heartland Inn Davenport was a nice place to unwind. The Whirlpool bath was spacious, even for 2, and the hot water just kept on flowing. The Sweetheart Basket of bath salts, chocolates, a tub pillow, puff, & sparkling grape juice (along with
breakfast brought to our room) was a nice touch and a great deal! Our only criticism was of the curtains, which kept out neither sun nor parking lot lights, but I have been informed better window treatments are in the works.
