Good location, good price

I booked a one night stay for a quick visit to the University of Iowa. I experienced fast check-in, a clean room with a wonderful shower head, and a decent hot breakfast. The location was convenient to the school and there were a variety of restaurants surrounding the hotel. I have stayed there before and will continue to use stay at the Heartland Inn.

Adequate but nice....

I basically was there to sleep, have breakfast, and head out. I arrived just before midnight, checked in (which was painless) and went to my room. Unpacked and got ready to go to sleep, watched some TV, checked email online (also painless) and went to go to sleep. Woke, showered and went to grab a banana and some juice before heading out. The room was clean as was the bathroom, but like most motels, it was dusty. Overall ...nice stay.

Heartland Inn - not at all hearty

- Overall - Extremely poor. Hotel cleanliness inside - Bad. Grease and dirt on door handles. Room Size - Small - almost no space to walk. Amenities - Poor. There was no place to lay down the ironing board and be able to use it. Table was extremely small and with one chair it was hard to decide how will one eat something if the other person had to work. No closet space to hang your belongings or put away the baggages. Walking on carpet was not easy - as carpet appeared damp and with grease. Only two pillows per bed unlike many other placed I have visited where usually you will get 3-4 pillows per bed. Breakfast was horrible - cold eggs, and bread is all you could find to eat. Overall - this hotel is even worse then a roadside motel. I would never use hearland Inn ever again in my life.

Clean ,Quiet, Comfortable and Affordable

Stayed one night between appointments at the dental school. Good value and just a very short walk to Old Chicago restaurent - great food there! Great WiFi connection in room.

Convenient, clean, and close...

I was there on business at the University of Iowa. The staff was attentive and helpful. The location is great, and it's a cheaper alternative to other hotels in the area. The room was nothing special, but it did the job!

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

I ate at 126 and Graze, two restaurants next to the University of Iowa, and both were very good. 126 is a more upscale, pricey restaurant (maybe for a business dinner or a date), while Graze is a good casual place to share lots of different dishes (similar to tapas restaurants).

No problems

If you're just looking for a convenient place to stay that is clean, this will be a good fit. Breakfast is the typical better-than-continental type items.

Coralville Hearland Inn

They were very courteous. Had fresh cookies and either soup or hot dogs from 5-7:30 the two evenings we were there. Room very clean. Great place to stay when we are visiting our children.
