Red Roof Cedar Rapids

This was the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in. The carpet was sticky. The shower curtain was mildewed and the bed spread and blanket were stained.

Pros: Affordable, free breakfast, free wifi (okay speed), decent room size, and the staff was very friendly. Cons: Bathroom very small, room not very well sound insulated (could hear people talking outside very clearly at 5am), and there were some bugs in my room (roly polys, beetles, and some spiders).

When I travel, I do not spend much time in the hotel because I always fill my day up with activities. This hotel is great for that because it provides a great bed to sleep on compared to other hotels in the area. Security is a major factor at this hotel as well. You must have your key-card to access the stairs and elevator. One thing that disappoints me with the place is the breakfast. When compared to continental breakfasts at other locations, it just does not stand up to the competition. The big part of the meal is make your own waffles, but there is not much else besides some fruit and a limited selection on toast/English muffins.

It was very clean and quiet. I was glad the smoking and non-smoking rooms were separated.

Good location. Rather aged hotel. Only the third (top) floor is non-smoking and has interior rooms. The front desk was helpful, even giving ethernet cables because the "free" wifi is sketchy at best. The breakfast is the worst I have seen, the only meal offerings are waffles and apples. You can get juice, hot water and coffee. The king bed was a plus and was comfortable. Room size is average.

We came in for my god daughters first baby shower. We decided to sleep in town before heading back north to home. The hotel was great except for the thin walls. You could hear every noise in any of the rooms around the one we stayed in and the noise out in the hall. The only noise we didn't hear was the traffic.

Clean room, friendly staff and very accommodating, nothing fancy but met our needs.

I had a ground floor room, I thought that would be great. WRONG, my room faced the interstate, next to a stairwell. The other guests were exremely roudy and very loud at all hours of the day and night. Last time I stayed I had a great experience, this time was an extreme opposite. I booked the same exact type of room, but this room had none of the ammenaties that my last stay had.
