I was in the room for two nights. I chose this because I was on a tight budget and my airfare to ALO was already quite high. The location was convenient: only a few minutes from where I wanted to go. The room was passably clean but not exceptional. Water in the faucets was whitish (which I didn't notice until I collected some in the clear coffee-maker jar an hour before I left) - so obviously not clean. I checked in late at night and checked out early in the morning - the night desk clerk on duty on both these occasions was extremely pleasant and friendly. However, another desk clerk on duty in the early evening made me wait for service while he smoked outside and was brusque and disinterested when he returned. The wake-up calls are off (both my wake-up calls were 20 minutes too early which is especially unpleasant pre-dawn). My non-smoking room had an odd smell that reminded me of perfumed smoke - something masking a smell of cigarette smoke, perhaps? There were no windows anywhere, so I had no way to ventilate the room. I had an issue with the shortage of power outlets in my room - one power strip near the TV had three left over after connecting the TV, the microwave and the fridge, and there were no available outlets anywhere else except in the bathroom. Just about passable on the whole, but then I'm used to roughing it out so I could put up with it. I'm not a regular traveler within the United States so I don't get to see too many places I can compare it with, but I know they could do better. Take it if you're on a budget.

Weekend for fun
We were disappointed that the hotel claimed to have a pool, but it was actually next door at a neighboring hotel. The room was clean, but not deep clean: the floor was not well vacuumed. The heater worked, but not very well. We had to run it on high around the clock to maintain a comfortable temp, but this made the room air very dry.

"Great location. Nice staff!"
This hotel is in a great location for people visiting UNI. This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this location. The first experience was better. The first room we got was perfect in my book but this time I selected a non-smoking room and got a smoking room. All of my clothes smelled like smoke. A lot of children running the halls late at night but that is partly the parents fault.

Not good
I reserved a non-smoking, single room here for two nights during a conference, but when I got there they told me the reservation system had gone down that day. So the only room left at the same price was a smoking room. The carpet outside my room still had remnants of someone's vomit, there were questionable splatters on the ceiling and mold in the bathroom, in addition to a very smoky atmosphere with no ventilation anywhere. I was not pleased.

nice lodging
Excellent and friendly service and the rooms were very clean. You are only a few minutes from the UNI campus and there are restaurants within walking distance of the motel.

ok i guess
Came for the National Folkstyle Wrestling Tournament - just needed a place cheap to crash for a couple days. If you don't smoke, DO NOT get a smoking room - only thing that bothered us was the ammount of smokey smell in the room. Smells like someone just chain-smoked in the room. Other than that, great room, friendly staff, and overall good place. will go back but to a smoke free room.

America's next top Remodel
The Days Inn Has a great location very close to many shops. You can use the pool facilities next door at The holiday Inn , which is nice! The ambiance left something to be desired though. The vent fan in the bathroom was broke and ended up sorta setting off the smoke alarm due to the steam from the shower.Crackle crackle crackle was heard for about 20 min. The front desk sounded like they knew about it and assured it would stop.It did. The cost of the room was very good for the location. I guess you get what you pay for.

Good for the weekend.
Great location on University Ave. The room had a slight mold smell, but I think that is occurring b/c there was no window to open to air out the room. Breakfast is included the next day and the room was clean, I would stay there again.
