I went just for a fun night out of the house. Great pool and rooms. I would definitely go back!

Jumers Castle Lodge, Bettendorf

We had stayed at Jumers Castle Lodge 35 years ago for our honeymoon. We we had great memories of the old world charm and great service. We realized that the hotel had changed hands but did not anticipate that the quality had changed so drastically. When we arrived the check in staff could not find our reservation. Our room was in poor repair, the ironing board did not have a pad, the iron was broken, the dining room staff was indifferent. Overall, our experience was less than what we would expect at an older Motel 6.

Quiet restful stay. Nice restaurant and bar but no after hour vending machines or service for food, milk, water etc for that late night wake up or arrival emergency.

No outdoor pool!

I had picked this hotel because it had an outdoor pool, but it was covered up with a tarp! The indoor pool and hot tub were fine, but I was disappointed. When you live in Alaska, you want an outdoor pool in July in the midwest!

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

I heard so much about Maid Rite burgers, but I'm not that impressed. The milk shakes were terrific!

Dark and Teutonic

This place hasn't changed in years. The germanic theme is so over. It is ultra dark inside, and there is little usualbe signage to direct you within the hotel. The elevators are small, slow, smell and make strange noises. During a storm, since there was rain pouring in the windows, and the electricity appeared that it might fail, I took the stairs down. What a nightmare it would have been to be stuck in the elevator! The bathroom is way too small -- barely bigger than a lavatory on an airplane! And no fan in it. The grout is dirty and stained. Our toilet ceased to flush, and nobody rushed up to look at it. The ammenities noted on the Orbitz description, such as a microwave and fridge were not in the room. Also, no free breakfast. I have been staying here during the local air show for the last 7 years. I am done. I can't stand it any more. TOO DEPRESSING!! DARK AND DIRTY
