Super 8 Ankeny/Des Moines Area

well, it's not so true about Super 8 Hotel advertising on the web., there is no heat poo, cold jucuzzy, "Superstart breakfast" were muffin, hot waffer, milk and cereal, coffee, juice. We got 2 smoking rooms instead, the front desk realy copperative moved us to the non-smoke rooms but still smell bad. One of the mattress should be in the trash, not enough towel for 4, screen door is missing, TV color is faded.

Was a very small and out dated room that needs attention and the staff was not very nice nor the accommodations. Spent little time in the hotel due to it's uninviting atmosphere. Conveniently near interstate and shopping area though.

This Hotel is great for People who love a quick or long stay. The staff is great and the rooms are as clean as can be. It really doesnt get any better than this. The pool is a blast a just love taking a relaxing dip in the hot tub to soothe away all my worries. This motel is my favorite in the Des Moines Area.

I stayed a 5 nights and had trouble with the hotel keys 3 times. The front desk staff was not very helpful. When I complained they said it happens all time and laughed. The rooms were clean if not the best maintained. The housekeeping staff were very nice and very helpful.

After checking in, re-parked the car near the closest door to our room location. Took a hand full of luggage and bags upstairs to our room. Swiped card and did not work. Went back downstairs to front desk where I was given 2 more cards. Went back upstairs, and once again, both cards did not work. Went back downstairs to front desk, and attendant said she will be up in a few minutes to help. Few minutes later she came up with a handful of cards. Not one let us in. She had to go back downstairs and get more cards. Few minutes later, she returned and let us in. After driving 3 hours, and all I wanted to do was get into our room and RELAX but had to mess around with entrance cards! After dinner that evening and after a visit to grocery store, came back to room and opened the fridge and found a half empty can of "Mikes Hard Carnberry" alcohol. The fridge smelled horribly with the smell of stale alcohol. Called the front desk immediately and she said she would notify the manager in morning. Obviously the fridge was not cleaned after the last visitor. I had also discovered that our blowdryer was half hanging off the bathroom wall, which was a real pain when trying to use it. The t.v. was not functioning properly. After 10-15 seconds, the t.v. would mute for half second. Turned it off and back on hoping to reset and fix the problem, but no luck. Friday, we went to the pool. Just a few minutes before wanting to leave the pool, walked down the hallway to ask for some clean bath towels to take to our room. Attendant said they were out of clean ones at the moment. So we went back to our room with one small "pool towel". Oh, and did I mention the cigarette burns/ holes in on the comforter of our bed! On a good note, my son really enjoyed the indoor pool and spa. Very dissappointed!!! [...]

This was our third night in a hotel, The others were much nicer. This hotel was well worn and not very well kept up. The workers all smoked and the entire hotel smelled smokey. They sprayed in the halls and that helped but there were smoking rooms across from us so later it was smokey again. I would not stay there again. If they advertise non-smoking rooms they should not be together with smoking rooms.
