Days Inn Ankeny - Des Moines

We waited at least 2 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk. We definitely got what we paid for, and not a penny more.

For the price, it was exactly what we bargained for. If you want to partake in their very limited breakfast selection - you better get down there before 9:15 or it will be long gone! Otherwise the staff was friendly and sharp and the room was in good shape.

I was visiting down at ISU and needed a place to stay Friday night. The hotel was convenient since my gf wanted to go to Des Moines to shop a bit that day. It turned out to be fairly decent; nice sized TV, fridge and microwave, etc. The bed was decent, there are few hotels where I would say the bed was "awesome." There also was a lot of places to dine close to the hotel, like a block away. Overall I would recommend it.

I was visiting my daughters family in Ankeny! One afternoon I tried to take a nap with a do not disturb sign on the door and some of the employees were having a major loud discussion that finally required my reminder! New TV worked one day....

Very Good Courteous Staff. The Breakfast was a Pleasant Surprise. A Free hot Breakfast included, at an already reasonable Price. It's nice to get much more than I had originally expected, we as afamily would suggest this hotel to others if you dont mind having a pool on site. A solid Budget Hotel with Ammenities.....BRAVO !

The Days Inn suited my needs, a clean room, good bed, fair price. The continental breakfast is pretty spartan. My only beef was the remote was pretty dirty.

The suite was very small compared to other Days Inn suites we've stayed in. There was a big hole under the sink--like there had been plumbing problems. Most of the TV channels were very fuzzy. We had to ask for light bulbs when we arrived so we could turn the lights on. The TUB filled up with water while taking a shower and then took FOREVER to drain. The bathroom was so small you had to step in and close door to be able to use the toilet--no shutting the door after you sit. It definately needs more improved parking, as when we returned the one night there was no place for us to park. It was clean and the people were friendly.

It was definately quiet at night and during the day as well. Staff was friendly and easy to find, rooms were taken care of nicely and everyday all the towels and cups that i used were replaced which was very nice.

For my trip, this hotel was very conveniently located at a reasonable price. However, upon entering the hotel, the fragrance of perfumed cleaning solutions were very apparent. In spite of the "aroma", the smell of urine and smoke could be detected. The sink in my room was functional but was cracked/broken from severe abuse. While the room appeared clean, something about the aura of the place made the thought of taking a shower in this room unappealing.

We stayed at Days Inn for 2 consecutive years for ISU Parents Weekend. The hotels in Ames almost triple their price for parents weekend. We were only 20 minutes from Ames & the location is right off of I35.
