"To stay or not to stay."
In Ames to visit our child attending Iowa State. The Gateway is a step up from average and a few steps below above average, like a C+.

Nice place
The stay was great and the Hotel is an excellent place if you have to stay in Ames. The only complain I have is the breakfast started too late during the week. If you are there for business 6:30am can be too late. In the weekdays was pretty common to have people waiting outside the restaurant in the morning. But the waiters and waitresses were very nice! Anyway, I strongly recommend it specially is you get a great deal from Orbitz

Nice hotel, good location
I was in town to meet with friends who were also in from out of town and wanted a good clean hotel room at a fair price, and that's exactly what I got.

Great Location-Close To ISU-Quiet
Stayed here once before, same great rooms. Very clean, very quiet. Close to ISU. First choice when coming to Ames again. Did not eat here, but the facilities looked nice. Had to fill in dining section to send review.

Love this place!
I am always happy when we stay at the Gateway. We never are placed near an elevator and the rooms are very quiet. I love that there are down comforters and the room is nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and never complain when we show up early for our room.
