Close to Iowa State University, 1 mile to stadium and campus. Located in the heart of downtown Ames. Plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment within walking distance. No Pets.

Great homecoming stay

This might be (at least one of) the best located hotel at the town of Ames, especially when you travel without a car. It's about 2 mins walk to Cyride. And there're a bunch of dinning and shopping place within 5 mins walk. The rooms are clean and I did not notice the uncomfortable odors mentioned in some previous reviews. The staffs are helpful. And the price is reasonable. It seems I only got soaps for washing and bathing. Maybe they should consider providing shampoo in the restroom next time.

place to stay in Ames

Up in Ames just for the day. This hotel had everything that I expected for the value. Good location right by target and close to campus. The TVs are a little small and they are double beds not queen. But overall everything was nice and it was easy to check in and out.

No Frills, Clean and Friendly

The Inn was right next to Panera in Ames, IA, which I appreciated. Free WiFi was a plus and complete cable TV package was also appreciated. Desk clerks were friendly and capable. Maid service was efficient and prompt. I stayed at the Days Inn when I visited Ames last year and I would do it again. Excellent value if you don't need frills.

dont stay there

sewer smell in lobby. bathroom ceiling soaking wet with sweat from airconditioning. small eating area was full of construction workers

OK, but not great

The room was OK, but there was a bit of a musty smell. They did try to correct this smell; you could see the air freshners around the hotel. The breakfast was not good. The cream cheese for the bagel was questionable and everything else was too. The coffee was the only thing I trusted. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with directions to ISU, which was the purpose of our visit. It was cheap!

Weird smell

The room was fine, everything was fine but the hotel had a distinct odor.

close to shopping and dining

close to target, kmart, walmart, perkinns, fast food, interstate, fitness centers. Sits right on 4 way highway, but noise was never a problem. My room was large (201), with foldout couch, nice picture on HDTV, minifrig and microwave. excellent multipurpose handheld shower head.
