Conveniently located 1/2 mile west of I-35, AmericInn Ames is near Iowa State University and has a country style décor, comfortable amenities and a warm and welcoming atmosphere sure to please business and leisure travelers alike. The attractively appointed rooms, from double queens and single kings, to whirlpool suites, 2-room suites, and 2-room suites with a fireplace and whirlpool, all featuring free high speed wireless internet, cable TV, in-room coffeemakers, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards. All rooms come with refrigerators, microwaves and ADA requirements are available. Relax in our spacious lobby in front of our cozy brick fireplace or go for a swim in our indoor pool. Relish a quiet night's sleep and wake up to a hot complimentary breakfast featuring Belgian waffles, fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, juice and more, served 6am-10am daily. Ups and Downs

Charming lobby with fire in fireplace, Christmas tree, cocoa, jigsaw puzzle, friendly staft, But...plumbing problems and no off-hours maintenance. Toilet plugged, moved rooms, toilet plugged there too. We were given a plunger which was required every couple of flushes. Who wants to have to do THAT every time someone used the bathroom? This is a problem bigger than a single room, so they should address it SOON.

What's Needed !

Americinn was the right place for us to stay while visiting relatives in Ames. It is easily accessible from either I35 or hwy 30. Our grandkids were allowed to use the pool which was a real plus. Breakfast is better than adequate and the room rate per night the weekend we stayed was less than $80 including tax. We would use this facility in the future.

Use Duff St for accessing almost all shopping and dining.

happy, family place

we had a great experience here. front staff was organized, helpful and friendly. breakfast was exceptional. new carpets less than 3 months old. lots of kids here for junior olympics, but place was quiet. came home late one evening to find our bathroom was flooding from room above and staff moved us in minutes to better room. rode the train and saw car races in nearby Boone. Ames is beautiful.

ames vacation

my two small children liked the pool. It was not too small. The breakfast had a nice selection. Helpful and friendly staff.

when in ames

we needed a room for family weekend at Iowa state. the americInn was fine. I appreciated the breakfast buffet, but the coffee needed some improvement. we had plenty of hot water and towels, i just wish the towels were bigger to cover my expanding girth.

Great Value and friendly atmosphere

I really enjoyed my overnight stay. The hotel was in a quiet part of town yet close to the highway. The accommodations were very adequate and comfortable. The continental breakfast had ample selections and the coffee was hot.

The Mexican restaurant next door caught my attention immediately upon arrival but I must confess that a pizza and coke delivered to my room within 30 minutes was the winner of the night!
