The staff was very friendly, and was very helpful in directing us to wherever we wanted to go. The room was excellent, well equipped and clean. The continnetal breadfast was very good with a lot of variety

Nice place to stay for the money
My stay was fine at the hotel. A nice continental breakfast. Looks like their is still some small remodeling going on, but nothing that negatively impacted my stay. It was a good value, and I would stay again.

Think it was the big Steer restaurant...great steak, little pricey, but staff was very helpful. Didn't like the $6 plate charge if two people split an entrée but staff worked around it.

Comfortable Bed
The Altoona Inn was close to Prairie Meadows Casino and to the interstate. The hotel was clean comfortable and had very friendly staff. It is an excellent choice for value and function. The only compliant I had was the toiletries provided were less than spectacular. Otherwise a wonderful stay.

Iowa State Family Weekend
We stayed here two nights recently for ISU's Family Weekend and had two excellent night's rest. Quiet Motel with the most comfortable beds and pillows! Clean rooms with all the necessities we needed. Everything was in excellent condition. The continental breakfast was your typical selection. Small eating area. Small lobby area. Overall, the best value of a motel that we've stayed at in years. 35 minutes from ISU in Ames. We will definitely stay here again for our next visit to ISU.

Grandma of eight
Complete remodel!!
Wow they did a complete remodel. We had stayed at this place a couple years ago when it was Heartland Inn and said we would never go back. Someone told us that Best Western had bought this place and did a remodel so we decided to try it. The rooms look fantastic, beds are new and very comfortable, beautiful decor, new flat screen TV. My only complaints are the room refrigerator and the cabinet that holds it, frig door needs to open the other direction,kind of a pain to get at. The location was very conveinent

a wonderful place
We went to Adventure Land It was close by we were more than able to walk to and from. also a nice touch was in the evening they gave us free popcorn and wounderful home made cookies. The breakfast was also wonderful with lots to choose from The woman that works in the kitchen area was most friendly and I enjoyed talking with her both mornings as we stayed 2 nights. The place was super clean the rooms basic but enough to meet our needs. Front desk staff aklso great and helpful they did not steer me wrong by saying go to Clarkstons for dinner great food.being a sold out place and Labor Day week end all was wonderful The pool was a little small but considering holiday weekend and lots of kids in it to be expected.Also they have a free shuttle that comes through the parking lot going to the casino I did not use it being with a 12 year old did not go to casino but lots of people seemed to love this service. also if you are a smoker do not be afraid being non smoking place they offer a wonderful area with seat outside. I observed many using this area including myself.
