Tired, quaint hotel.
Hotel decor and atmosphere was tired. Staff appeared disinterested and very few smiles were noted. Rooms were clean. Window air noisy.

Only to sleep for business trip
The hotel is very good just to sleep. The front desk employees are not very friendly. The restaurant is not very clean and the service is very slow. It's located close to malls and shops. Next time we will stay close to lahaina,

Decent accomodations
Great view of the ocean from the pool area. Good breakfast options in the restaurant-- friendly wait staff. Air condtioner in the room was noisy and made strange "clunking" sounds throughout the night. Walls are a bit thin as I could hear the TV in the next room (which was why I ran the A/C). Parking is a bit tricky with really tight and narrow spots. There are not very many hotel options in Kahalui. I have stayed next door at the Maui Beach Hotel-- both seem to be about the same.

Cheap so be prepared to pay for extras
This was my second stay at this hotel within the last three months. I still have a problem paying $5/day for parking when it is free at the hotel next door. I paid for the upgraded "garden view" which I thought would overlook the pool... but it didn't (It overlooked a sort-of courtyard between the two buildings.) If you are looking for a nice beach on the hotel property, look elsewhere. If you are looking for quiet, look elsewhere. Food in the restaurant was ok but I got more and paid about the same for better food down the street. Really liked the Interent access in the lobby (even if it costs .20/min or .75/page printed).

Short walk from hotel
Property is not a far walk away from Whole Foods/Maui Mall or the Queen Ka'aahumanu commercial center where there are a few more restaurant choices along with about 100 other stores. Use extreme caution when crossing the streets as many of the drivers would rather try to run you over than grant you a little "aloha" courtesy when crossing the street. I recommend driving to Ma'alaea or Lahaina for more food and shopping choices. Look in the Maui Guide for suggestions and coupons.

Good deal for the price.
The hotel is older and dated somewhat but a great buy for the price. It is very clean. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was not heated but it was nice. There was beach front if you wanted to play in the ocean. We plan to stay there again when we return to Maui.

Good place to stay while in a hurry.
I was there on business and have stayed once before. The beds could be upgrade, but I seemed to sleep just fine. Great staff, friendly, helpful. Not exactly a hotel to hang out for vacation, but how often do you stay in your room? Great restaurant called the Coconut Grill and all meals are terrific. Try the Hawaiian specialties and the place is a local favorite.

fine for a night before/after flying
This hotel is fine, nothing particularly special, with nice staff. Breakfast was included in my price, which was one of three choices at the adjacent restaurant. The hotel was perfectly adequate for what I needed, which was a decent place to stay before flying out the next morning from Kahului ($15 cab ride from the hotel). What's nice here is that you see what you get: other "hotels" in the area do not have accurate quotes in Orbitz, as they all tack on an additional $130 or so in "reservation fees" and "maid fees" -- essentially these other places are condos, not hotels, which makes it really hard to use Orbtiz to do a reasonable comparison. With this hotel, no other fees are added, aside from $5 for parking (I had no car), and $9 for internet access (which I didn't need). Orbitz needs to get its act together in this respect: if I can't do a price comparison without clicking through each listing to dig out the actual total price, it's not worth the trouble.

Good location for business travel.
Since we were here on business, and didn't spend much time in the room, we found this place to be very convenient. Close to town, shopping, easy to find, and rignt on the beach.

The staff was helpful and kind. Convenient location, but had traffic noise at night. I wish I'd had time to jump in the pool - inviting courtyard area.
