Beautiful babymoon
My husband and i went to Maui for a babymoon - i'm 7 months pregnant. We had a fabulous time. While there were a lot of families there - the great thing is there's an adult pool open 24 hours a day, so we hung there. The beach is right in front of the hotel - beautiful, swimming beach. Umbrellas cost per hour, but worth it for us. We also rented snorkel equipment and went right in front of the hotel - incredible coral reel and lots of fish. The breakfast buffet is a little pricey, we only did it once, but it's gorgeous and tons of options. There's a deli where you can buy yogurt, fruit, pastries, coffee etc so that's what we did instead. We ate at Ko, one of the restaurants on site - food was delicious and service was really great. Had a fabulous prenatal massage - costly, but a nice indulgence. The concierge was very helpful - i had done a ton of research and they helped focus us on what we really needed to see. We went 5 minutes by car down the street to Big Beach - the largest undeveloped beach in maui - it was a nice afternoon away from the hotel. Overall, the size of the suites makes the Kea Lani completely worth the price. We watched the best sunsets of our lives from the comfort of our own lanai.

Short drive from hotel
Matteo's Pizzeria just a short drive away was yummy affordable italian food. The line to get in was a little long and intimidating at first, but it moved very fast -- you order and pay up front and then are seated afterwards. nice casual dining.

fantastic stay
very nice hotel, great view of ocean, and the property itself is beautiful. the adult pool was great but no hot tub, the family pool was loud and our room was right above it, room service was a bit pricy, and a room deposit of $100 per day is required (i don't remember every being notified of that). All and all it is a fantastic stay! oh, if you smoke, no smoking anywhere in hawaii. there were 3 designated areas well away from convinient!

Wonderful and relaxing
Very private since the hotel was at the bottom and around the bend of a group of hotels. Beautiful beach with good service and plenty of activities. We went snokeling and paddle boarding. Three different pools and we loved the restaurant "Nicks". We had a junior suite which was lovely with a fabulous view. All in all a great hotel.

Relaxing in paradise
We spent the week lying in the sun and doing nothing, which is the rest we were looking for. The hotel has a great beach with kayaking and other water sports, or you can sit at the pool, order drinks and relax. The location is beautiful, the suites are large and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only problem is that the amenities are very highly priced, so we went into town (usually Kihei) for most meals and entertainment.

beautiful hotel
We loved the hotel...very pretty and they upgraded us to a partial view suite which was very nice. The location was great as we were returning to that area for our anniversary where we got married... The resturant Ko's was very expensive and the steak was like $49 and it was aweful! Half was grissle and my husband had to spit several bites out as he could not chew it!! AWEFUL for that price! My fish was excellent and I enjoyed it. The waitress was an older woman that had oblong dark rim glasses with redish short hair and she was rude and gave bad service. We had to wait over 20 minutes to get our first drink!! She got nice as the bill was given to us............that is not service and to be rude to us with your day is not acceptable. It was our first night there and we were shocked at the attitude and prices. The bar and waitress in the lobby was excellent and the pool service was excellent as well.. The pool food was expensive as were the drinks and not worth the price. They need to lower their food prices and alot more people would stay at the resort to eat verses going elsewhere. We saw several couples that ate elsewhere as we did.

Everyone was extremely pleasant.
Recently spent 8 days in Hawaii for the first time. Started at the Sheraton Waikiki in Honolulu, and then shipped out for a stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani. From the first moment we got there, we were welcomed with open arms. Every single member of the staff was friendly. We were greeted with tropical juice and native jewelry. We had great bellman service, and our room was very spacious. We booked the ocean front deluxe suite, and it came with a nice panoramic view of the ocean. Unfortunately, it overlooked one of the swimming pools / swimming pool bars. This got to be a bit noisy at times, but only when we were out on the balcony. The room had a separate living room and bedroom. The bed was mildly comfortably, and there was a tv in both the living and bedrooms. The bathroom was huge with 2 sinks, separate shower and bath and separate toilet room. There were plenty of dining options, and we particularly liked the small cafe / deli. The beach was great, and there are plenty of watersport options. We took a nice canoe / snorkeling tour. We looked at the surrounding properties (Grand Wailea and Four Seasons), and we were glad that we chose the Kea Lani. There was plenty of shopping within a 2 minute drive. Overall, things were great. The only negative I would add would be that the rooms seemed a bit dated and could use some cosmetic touch-ups. However, the stay was great and Maui was far better than Oahu.

nick's is outstanding quality, delicious, romantic atmosphere and impeccable service!our kids loved the attention and had great kids meals as well. if you are in the mood try the hotel great room service and ask for tablecloth to dine in your private lanai at a reasonable price. ko is good but the only time where service was slow. breakfast buffet very good with an extensive variety, even though the location now has only a garden view. the pool bar and grill was very good too! if you need a sandwich, a pizza, snacks, drinks, desserts...the deli is very good. for the best sushi go to sansei in kihei, but ask concierge to reserve it for you...it is very busy! (it would be nice to have another restaurant open for dinner on site beside nick's ko, room srvice and the deli pizza shop).
