Fantastic honeymoon getaway

Marriott is located in a lovely spot on Big Island! This hotel is good value for the price and I would say is four star quality. The room was very nice! Good location on a beach and shops near by! Staff friendly - however could be a bit more inviting! Best to hire a car and travel to the volcano 1 hr and 45 mins away! Lovely drive!

lovely stay

We enjoyed a lovely 10-day stay at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort, making it our home base for discovering the Big Island. Loved the setting by historic Hawaiian fish pools and beaches, swimming pools, outdoor dining (especially the breakfast buffet) and sunset views. Aloha spirit was everywhere. We didn't want to leave!!

First time in Hawaii

We loved the Marriott and the location of the hotel. We had a pool room view but from the 4th floor or above you had a good view of the ocean as well. The beds were very comfortable and while the carpeting is worn the rest of the room and furniture is new and beautiful that you really don't pay any attention to the carpet. The restaurant has good food and the view is dynamite. Would have been nice to have at least one more choice for dining at the hotel but across the street is the King's Court shops and they have 3 different restaurants and a short walk down the beach and you can go to the Hilton also where they have multiple restaurants if your looking for more choices. The beach is great and you can snorkel or just watch the turtles from your hotel.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Go to the Kings Court for 3 fantastic restaurants and then a 5 minute walk you are at another shop area where they have a food court and 3 more restaurants. If that is not enough a short walk down the beach and you can go to the Hilton for more choices. The restaurant at the hotel is nice and 2 nights a week they have 50% off the meal during the off season. The food quality is very good and you definitely get a good meal for your money.

Very nice.

Love the location. Walking distance from two shopping centers. Te island does not have very many beaches so I liked that this hotel had its own beach. The only thing I didn't like was that our room was on the first floor facing a path way so we couldn't keep our shades open without people being able to see right into our room. Otherwise, I loved the hotel and would stay again.

Wonderful resort

Wonderful resort with excellent amenities, friendly staff, weather was beautiful. The lagoon Beautiful and the sports/water activities were readily available. The best amenities were the 24 Hour Fitness Ctr. and 24 hour swimming pool. Unlike other Marriotts the business center and Wi-Fi required some charges. However there was free Wi-Fi in the lobby. The restaurant food was very good and we really enjoyed the live entertainment at dinner.

Good value for your bucks

We felt this was a good value for the money we have spent on it. It was at a perfect location, right next to beach and you can spend all day long there. The pools were huge and good.

Five day stay

Checking in was easy and valet staff were so quick and courteous. Our hotel room was on the first floor, pool view, king size. The room was TINY. It came with an old school 32 inch TV and no movie channel. There is only one restaurant and they don't serve past 10, so you can forget that late night snack. We got up early the first day, left the room til almost three and didn't even have maid service while we were out. No clean towels, no new shampoo and conditioner... Kind of disappointing. The pools and rooms were nice, but small. The rooms were clean, but not services that one day. I will probably not stay there again. Sorry Marriott! I expected more.
