Great location but not up to Marriott Resort standards
Except for the great location on one of the best Big Island beaches, this hotel did not meet my expectations as a Marriott Resort. I took a risk in booking after reading other review sites and since I got a great rate in high season, I am modestly satisfied. Infinity pool is nice but the sandy beach main draw. Marriott normally prides itself on staff but there is plenty of work to do at this property. NO wireless internet in guestrooms and OLD TV's. Peeling wallpaper and cracked grout in bath. Easy walk to shopping, dining and the Hilton Waikaloa which is more resort like than this Marriott.

Short walk from hotel
Short walk to Hilton Waikaloa where you can take a boat or monorail around the property. Watch the dolphins playing, spot sea turtles and eels in the lagoon, and watch for breeching whales from the hills on the property.

Relaxed....
Nice beach. The hotel rooms were almost full however it was not so noisy or crazy busy as we expected. We could spent a peaceful 4 nights and at the beach. They might need 2nd dining again in a future... We would love to go back to this Marriott soon.

All in one place
The hotel offered lots of amenities in a casual and elegant atmosphere. Staff was always friendly. My only complaint was the bathroom exhaust fan. It was anemic to the point of being useless. Building maintenance crew said they fixed it, but it was still anemic.

Breakfast buffet was very good with a nice variety to choose from. At dinner, I had the best duck I have ever eaten. Lunch served poolside was very tasty and attractively served in bamboo steamer trays. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Comfortable and Beautiful Hotel
It is our first time to stay in Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa during this holiday season. We feel it is very confortable and cleaning, with big room size, beautiful swimming pool and beach, it is delicious breakfast, price is a little higher, $30 per person for breakfast buff than we wish, plus there is extra surcharge $25 per day for packing, internet, which supposed to be inlcuded in room rate.

Fabulous Location, Bed way too soft!!
We have stayed at this resort off and on about 6 times over the last 12 years. We went back this Dec 2011 after a 4 year hiatus. It was the same fabulous view of the ocean and beach side access to great snorkeling, and convenient access to restaurants and shops that it has always been. But the king size bed was way too soft this time.. No support so I had back, neck, head aches and side aches until they flipped the mattress to the side that is not meant to be up, and I bought 2 layers of egg crate foam and took sleeping pills and 1200 mg tylenol each night. They did not have any other alternative type of bed or foam. I have slept at many other Marriott hotels and not had this problem--I usually find the Marriot has good beds for me. If you need a firm yet comfortable sleeping surface, this is not the hotel for you. If you can manage the bed, it is an awesome place!!!

It was a good place to have vacation
The hotel has lots of options for usage and in essence was good however, it needs some painting, reconstruction and better organization of the rooms. We had for example only one chair in the room and a desk, there was soemthing like a night stand between the two beds which has such construction that was partially not usable and this was all. (room 3154). Even the cheapst hotels should think for some more comfort in their rooms. The TV was a huge old fasioned one, the chairs on the balkony were comfortable but the tabe was too small.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
The shops in the King's Shoping Center and the Quins' Market Place have reasonable prices and offer good quality stuff. They are offfering the best value for the money, compared to the shoping options around.

R & R
Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Only thing that bugged me was the high parking fee, when there was no alternative parking. I won't return because of this. Even high end hotels charge less than $25 per day.
