Great location and views

Would recommend Mon, Jun 8, 2009
We were upgraded to an ocean view room for no extra charge. The BBQ areas were really great and the market in the main building had everything you would need. Great beaches, restaurants and a fish market near by. We never left the north side of the island there was so much to do.

Shopping hint

The Blue Dolphin is a great restaurant/sushi bar/fresh fish market

Beautiful resort

We encountered a very rude bartender while we were there. We will stay at another hotel on our next trip because we really don't want to be reminded of how rude he was.

great everything

Would recommend Tue, May 26, 2009
Everything went very smoothly from the start. A nice little kitchen to cook our meals, a great bathroom, and a comfy bed. The service was amazing and it seemed they actually wanted to get it right and make the people there appeciate their service. We were able to stop off at Costco after our flight came in and picked up a week's worth of food. This saved a lot of money for other activities we wanted to do. There aren't too many food options at the hotel so having a cheap alternative was awesome.

Great place for families. Great service

Would recommend Tue, May 26, 2009
The place is nicely spread out, peaceful, sophisticated, and clean. It's a nice area for older adults and families. The hospitality suite they provide is the best as it allows you to have access to a room, after check out, and use the shower etc if you need.

Depends on the room

Would not recommend Sat, May 16, 2009
We were placed in a room right in front of a huge generator that ran constantly. This meant that we had to keep the windows and doors shut the entire time that we were there (no nice warm Hawaiin breezes at night for us). We asked if we could switch to a different room and were told everything was full for the entire week(we offered to pay for any upgrades). As we walked around we could see several rooms that appeared to be unoccupied and we asked some of the ground crew and they indicated it was about 60% full. We were also told that the property has beach access. This is not entirely true. You have to walk off the property then take a long walk down a steep path to get to the nearest beach. You are way better off driving to the other beaches. On the plus side the cleaning staff was very good and the maintenance people were very nice and frequently went out of their way to help. The room itself is rather nice. Clean and up to date. Overall this is probably a better place for people who enjoy playing golf (golf course is close). For everyone else I would say there are plenty of other options that offer better overall value.

Money saver

Stop along the way from the airport to pick up food. The grocery stores along the way are significantly cheaper than they are in Princeville.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Would recommend Wed, May 13, 2009
Spacious room with a large, open bathroom. Kitchenette filled with everything you need. Washer and dryer with laundry detergent provided. The pool areas were stunning with plenty of chairs for everyone. Not directly on the beach, but within walking distance of one beach and 5-10 minutes drive of several beautiful ones. The charming town of Hanelei is about 10 minutes away, and has wonderful restaurants (try the Wake Up Cafe for breakfast and Postcards for dinner) and shopping. We loved being close to the beautiful Na Pali coast. If you're a hiker, you must hike the Kalalau trail. If you're a golfer, you get a discount at the best and hardest golf course on the island, the Princeville. Be sure to bring plenty of golf balls! Our only complaint was our air conditioner unit was a bit noisy. We would definitely stay here again.

Dining

Hanalei's restaurants are worth the short drive. Try the Wake Up Cafe for breakfast and Postcards for dinner.
