Cliff-top Princeville resort offers activities galore
The Cliffs at Princeville is a resort atop a breezy bluff on the north shore of Kauai, within the Princeville Resort area. Nine low-rise, walk-up buildings are set around 22 acres of palms and tropical plantings, giving some condominiums unobstructed views of the Pacific. Accommodation options include a one-bedroom or one-bedroom with sleeping loft. At the heart of The Cliffs at Princeville is a pool complex and multi-use ball courts. A lava-rock wall with tumbling waterfalls separates the three pools, with space for all ages.
Highlights
  • Three-pool complex with lava-rock walls and waterfalls
  • Wealth of on-site activities -- tennis, volleyball, basketball, shuffleboard and putting green
  • Activities desk and concierge
Location
The Cliffs at Princeville and the north coast of Kauai hold special allure for visitors wanting to be at the adventure epicenter of Kauai. Kayaking the Na Pali Coast, hiking, horseback riding and zip-lining are among the thrilling attractions of the area. But the north shore is also home to laid-back Hanalei Town with its galleries and eclectic shops, to say nothing of one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii (famously seen in "South Pacific"). And, of course, the championship golf courses of Princeville present adventure of a different kind.
Rooms
Condos have a contemporary palette of colors, ceramic flooring in the entry, kitchen and bathroom and recently updated furnishings, artwork and fabrics. All of The Cliffs at Princeville units include a full kitchen, two baths, two lanais and a sleep sofa.
Features
It is easy to gather with family and old or new friends at The Cliffs at Princeville, whether at the recreation complex or the putting green with bunker where golfers can hone their short game before taking on the championship courses of Princeville. And there is the view-worthy barbecue area, too. Those who want to explore on two wheels can rent bikes on the property. The Cliffs at Princeville also has a green ethic, meaning landscaping includes the preservation of endangered native trees, plants and shrubs.

good, bad, ugly

Very hot/muggy (87) inside because they have no air conditioning - need to get in millennium. North island has less wind so you have to sleep with doors wide open and screens that don't lock - Hello cat burglars. Only condo exchange I ever paid additional($109 extra)fees. They nickel and dime for everything and $100 if you don't have it clean when you leave. Not worth price of admission. AVOID at all costs. Other than diving Tunnels Beach and hiking from Kee'e, south shore has more going for it. Stayed in south and east shores with better experiences. Two Thumbs DOWN!

Nice location

Our stay was enjoyable. The setting was gorgeous, but you have to drive to a beach. The condo was up for sale and very outdated. Had to walk to one of 4 'smoking stations' which were located in the blazing hot sun/rain.
