Climbing high over a verdant lava outcrop, The Sheraton Maui Resort is a huge tropical retreat on Maui's west coast. Bamboo features, rattan chairs and Hawaiian traditional prints mark out the decor inside, while private lanai-style balconies give you your own private slice of nearby ocean vistas. The 142-yard pool with a lazy river and slides will keep families busy all day long, and with the special 'keiki' (meaning 'children' in Hawaiian) program providing treats like milk and cookies sent to your room, you might find the kids even more reluctant to leave than you are. Watch your dinner flame-cooked before your eyes at Teppan-Yaki Dan, or eat alfresco at Black Rock Terrace. Every day at sunset, guests can sit back and witness the awesome cliff dive ceremony.

Neighborhood
Situated right on top of Black Rock, Sheraton Maui Resort runs along Ka'anapali Beach and is next to Whalers Village, an open-air mall filled with boutiques, shops and restaurants. The area is a convenient 2.5 miles away from Kapalua-West Maui Airport (JHM), and Lahaina town is a 10-minute ride, if you're in the mood for some tiki bar-hopping along the seafront.
Hints and tips
To avoid lengthy walks to reach your room, book a space closer to the arc of the complex, where most of the action takes place. Building six will provide the quietest rooms, and buildings three and four are closer to the pool and nightlife.

Whaler's Village is a good tip for quick eats, like burritos or pizza, if you're trying to conserve vacation funds.

Adequate Getaway

Arriving on our first night at Sheraton was disappointing because, the reservation we made couple of months ago for two beds was sold out. They put us in 1 King size bed and two roll-away beds in a small room. The room was crowded and unsafe for that night. The next day, they moved us to different room with two beds. Underneath the bathroom sink the plumbing was leaking and the sliding closet doors was too difficult to slide. They did fix the bathroom plumbing quickly. Sliding closet doors remained the same. The staff at Sheraton was wonderful but the quality of the room was not as I expected from a Sheraton.

Great honeymoon!

The hotel and amenities are beautiful! The room was pretty plain and ordinary but since the grounds, pool and beach were so close and gorgeous we didn't spend much time there. Great stay overall!

Location location location

The Sheraton lives from its location, amenities as well as the very we'll trained and friendly staff. Cons: uncomfortable beds (too soft), constantly running out of pool towels and not enough pool chairs in the shade.

Amazing property

My family and I enjoyed everything about our stay at the Sheraton. The hotel has easy access to the beach, which is so convenient. A perfect spor for snorkeling and cliff jumping too. The pool is cozy and very kid friendly. We also loved the free shuttle into Lahaina daily.

Spring Break with Family

Sheraton Maui is an excellent, scenic location. The rooms were big enough for our family of four and balconies were spacious! We all could sit outside, enjoy the view and eat a sunset dinner. The property was clean and the had some nice things going on for Easter. I felt the concierge service and the parking was below average. Really did not feel that Aloha spirit in these areas.

Great staff, great location, great hotel

Our stay was great, I was celebrating my graduation and the hotel even delivered a free - huge - tiramisu cake to celebrate - which I have never received at any other hotel and didn't expect. It was delicious! The staff was super friendly, and always greeting us. The room was big and the beds were very comfortable. They are rather protective about the towels, however, as upon check-out, they charged us for two towels - $10/each - even though we returned them all. Otherwise the stay was really pleasant. I highly recommend the Sheraton, and their restaurant was great too. But the rental prices for equipment are exorbitant, I would rent up the street at the Snorkel Store instead. Our room was cleaned daily and stocked with fresh towels and toiletries. Also when anything was requested there was a quick response. Thanks Sheraton for the cake and the great stay!

Beautiful

Beautiful hotel. Nice, friendly staff. Loved how open the hotel is. We did the Road to Hana trip. It's long but beautiful. Weather wasn't the best when we were there but we made the best of it. The only complaint I have is that its expensive to eat or drink and It would be nice if some things, such as snorkeling rentals, etc, should be included in the daily resort fee.
