Best Hotel Ever
I travel a great deal. My wife and I always vacation at top hotels, and I have to say the Grand Hyatt is probably one of the very best hotels i've ever stayed. My only complaint is there is no "casual" bar later in the evening. There is the Captains Bar in the middle of the pool area, but it closes at 6 p.m. It should be open until 10. Several evenings we returned from an outing only wanting a burger or appetizer only to find you had to go into the main restaurants. Other than that, it's a perfect place to stay. The lagoon area is phenomenal. We will surely return.

The Best Resort I've Stayed In
The lazy rivers, water slide and lagoon was a lot of fun and well decorated with lava rocks and fauna to fit the Kauai theme. The view from our room was awesome. Beach of beautiful, especally at sunset. I loved the 2 mile hike alond the rock cliffs next door. Restaurants were all top notch, especially Tidepools, where the seafood is great and you are surrounded on all sides by pools of coi fish, My only complaint is that the ocean at that location is too rough for most people to swim. It is a very popular beach among surfers. If you want to swim with your kids and go snorkel, go down the road to Poipu park.

One of the great Beach hotels
The only downside is the cost but if you can afford, it is worth it. Well managed and the pool/lagoon is great. I certainly would reccomend.

The helicopter tour is well worth the time and the money, this was my 3rd flight and I am still amazed even as a former helicopter pilot.

Great Vacation Getaway !!!
What an amazing resort. My husband and I stayed at this resort a second time without disappointments. It had been 5 years since our first visit and we still love this place. Staff is very friendly and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast can get pricey if it's not included in a package. The pool is fantastic. Very reasonably sized and never felt over crowded. No need to pack so much clothes. The hotel has two laundry rooms for guests free of charge. You only need to purchase the detergent (get it at the hotel's convenient store for under $2). The hotel's concierge's service is excellent. They can help you plan your activities while on the island. Visit them on your first day of arrival to book guided tour activities. They now offer an island orientation session to help you get more information on what to do on the island. If you are going to an excursion or another beach, pool towels are available for you to take with you. You can pick them up on your way out by valet service. We really enjoyed this hotel a second time and would love to come back again.

We dined at the hotel and it was decent if you didn't want to go anywhere. Tidepools is a very nice restaurant. Great food. Want to relax with a couple of drinks and enjoy a sensible meal ? Go to the Library. Great bar and on the weekend they offer fantastic Sushi. Want to enjoy a great restaurant outside of the hotel ? I recommend Merriman's in Poipu. It's a 5-10 minute drive. It's reasonably priced for the amazing quality of food you'll get. This was our first time dining there and we loved it.
