Great Hotel, but major construction until end of 2013

This is a beautiful hotel. The pools are great, rooms are clean and service was excellent. My only complaint is that the hotel is under major construction. Floor levels 4 - 7 are closed for renovations. The issue is they will stick you on the 2nd or 3 floors unless you pay the big bucks for floors 8 and up. The view is not as nice on the 3rd floor even if you pay extra for ocean view. Besides that the hotel is amazing, great for kids too. Your family will love it.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

The Luaus are not really worth the money. But you cannot go to Hawaii and not see a luau. The hotel sells tickets for $149 per person. The Costco on Maui has discounts for preorder for the same luau at $70. Check out the souvenirs there too.

Excellent week at The Westin Maui

Family vacation, 4 adults in a room with a very good service. The staff was awesome, the beach, incredible. Great for snorkeling, very close to black rock beach where were swimming with sea turtles. Food excellent with reasonable prices and options. I will come back for sure!!!!

Good For Familys

The Westin is a bit worn, but you can't beat it's location and it's a great family place. It took us a few trips to the front desk to find someone who actually tried to get us into connected rooms. This is not our first experience with needing to advocate for what you want at the Westin. That said, the hotel has all the things you would want in a Maui resort.

Honeymoon Stay

The grounds of the resort were amazing. We loved the numerous pools and especially the adult pool. Being able to walk from the pool to the beach is always wonderful and the beach was fantastic. My biggest complaint was the "Ocean View" room which I paid a bit extra for. I was unable to find a picture of the view for which I was paying on the web site. We actually could see the ocean but there was another hotel in the way. Part of our hotel I'm sure. The room was small and forgettable. But we didn't spend too much time there. All in all it was a wonderful experience and a nice resort.

Dissappointed

This Westin does not live up to its name. Rooms are smaller, not as luxurious, needs updating. Parking was a hassle too. Free self park but never enough spaces. Would rate the overall experience 3.5 stars.

Fantastic

A very well run hotel - everything was wonderful and we will definitely go back. My only complaint is that everything is extremely expensive - even for a resort. Two tall Starbucks coffees come out at $10.00 (for example) and if you want to guarantee an umbrella on the beach you have to pay $37.00 per day (it was too hot not to do this). You pay a certain room rate then you have to pay the $25.00 per night "resort fee" plus $37.00 per day if you want the umbrella... it quickly adds up. I would prefer to just pay the correct room rate as I find this a bit of smoke and mirrors. Don't get me wrong though - LOVED the hotel and we were treated wonderfully. I would highly recommend. most everything was overpriced for what it was.

Very nice resort but very small rooms

Very nice resort, pools with slides, plenty of chairs available, right on beautiful beach. On west coast of Maui so great sunsets. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Resort fee of $25 per night covers internet access, self-parking and bottled water. About 45 mins scenic drive from Kahului Airport (OGG). Only negative is that the room (2 double beds) is very small. The bulky armoire, TV cabinet, and desk take up almost all the floor space. Also the furniture is very dark and makes the room rather somber.

Whalers Village, with shops and restaurants, and a food court, is right next door to the resort. Good dining options at various price points for all budgets.

Wonderful Maui Vacation

The Maui Westin did not disappoint. This was our second time staying at the Westin and it was wonderful. Happy Hour is from 8-10 p.m. which is a perfect end to the days filled with sun and fun activities in Maui.
