The hotel was breathtaking to say the least. You're not spending that much time in your hotel room anyway, because you're anxious to be on the neighboring beach, resort swimming pools and waterslide, or take in the beautiful fish and flamingos on
the premise. The entire stay makes you forgot about the busy life that awaits you back on the mainland. Oh yeah, the courtesy shuttles around Lahaina is a great perk with friendly and informative staff.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
The resort food is pretty good, but Whalers Village is next door with good local dining.
Our stay at the Westin was a absolutely a pleasure. The hotel has beautiful landscape with lush greenery, beautiful flowers and relaxing waterfalls. It was so nice to be right on the open beach and look out at the ocean everyday while still
hanging out at the pool. The staff at the Westin was extremely helpful and always willing to do extra for you whenever needed.
The Westin Hotel's main draw is the outdoor pool setting, which was under construction, which no one mentioned during booking. Pool water was also freezing. Food prices were outrageous. Wait staff were poor. Concierge staff were not helpful, and
seemed unprepared. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone for the price we paid.
Very nice property on Ka'anapali Beach. The beach itself is definitely one of the top in the world. The hotels on the beach are not the most impressive but you are in Hawaii, so make every effort to leave the hotel. As expected, everything is
expensive but the variety of restaurants is great. Leilani's next door is a good drink spot.
One negative experience here was parking the rental car. They don't have adequate parking and that is the case in some other parts of Maui as well.
Great trip and would highly recommend.
We had a great experience at the Westin Maui. We traveled with my 8 year old and toddler. The hotel is excellent for kids. They have flamingos, black swan, tropical birds you can hold, and fish you can feed. The pools are very fun for kids. There
are two slides, a bigger one and a smaller one. The location is also great. It is next to some shops and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel.
Hotel is located on good spot on beach with wide section of sand and good snorkeling. Hotel lobby is beautiful to walk through, though a little noisy with waterfalls, pool and birds so not an ideal spot to just hang out or read a book. Great
selection of restaurants at hotel and in shopping area right next door, you don't even really need to leave the resort area. We went during a "slow season" and thought they could have used more staff at restaurants and lobby. In the rooms, the sink area is open to the bedroom so not a lot of bathroom privacy.
