Excellent service at the hotel. The only (small) downside was they didn't have the Ocean View Room with King Size bed ... available. At check-in, we had the choice of a room with no view and a king size bed, or a room with the ocean view but with 2 double beds. We went with the view. It was amazing!

This was a great spot to relax. Location was good next to good food, shopping, and clean beach. The gym was fair. The pool ... was ice cold, which was not comfortable at all. spent more time in the ocean since that water wansnt near as cold. Food is expensive but that's expected. There was constructions going on next door which was a bit loud.

Beautiful, Convenient, and Pricey

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa is on the world's greatest beach, and most every sightseeing location is a short drive away. Any ... touring information is readily available at the hotel, and some are available right at the beach! Good food can be found at Lahaina, Kahului, or even next door to the hotel at the Whaler's Shopping Center. This is a blessing, as the beautiful hotel restaurants are very damaging to the bank book. The hotel itself is gorgeous and pristine inside and out, and the entire staff is friendly and helpful. Absolutely memorable!

wonderful anniversary getaway
Island Lover Oct 27, 2009
We stayed at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our experience at this beautiful hotel close ... to Lahaina was great! The night we arrived, the hotel delivered champagne to our room. Resort staff seemed to go out of their way to accomodate us whenever we made any type of request. We had a rental car and did a lot of exploring of the island, sometimes returning after our free parking area was full. Free parking then became free valet parking! The staff were all very friendly and professional. We received a free upgrade to a beautiful ocean-view room. Attention to detail was apparent throughout the resort. The breakfast buffet was just excellent. We have stayed at many Westin Hotels and resorts due to the level of service, staff and accomodations, and this one did not disappoint!

Whalers' Village is nearby and is well-worth the short walk. We discovered some great outdoor entertainment (local hula dancers) the night we walked over. This upscale outdoor mall contains a whaling museum and also has some stores that carry Hawaiian-made merchandise, which was appealing to us.

As long as you realize what you are getting into with this resort it is A1 first class. Starting off before you leave ... arrange transportation from the airport as a Taxi will cost you $80 and that is the last thing you want to negotiate after a long flight. If you rent a car the parking lot could be full depending on the season, we went Oct 12-23 and had a car for the last 3 days and never had a problem. Also another thing to do before is sign up for Starwood which is a priority club and you earn point for the money you spend and get upgrades, plus its free. Went we arrived it was 9:30pm or 3:30am our time and we were given a room on the poolside. We didn't even have to ask for an upgrade and he said that tomorrow morning we will move your luggage to an ocean view, another perk of starwood. Rooms were very nice and had everything you needed. Ask for at least the 8th floor if you get ocean view as tree can be in the way. As far as food and drinks go, everything on the resort is rediculous $27 for breakfast buffett, $9.75 drinks by the pool ect. If you want to save money eat breakfast and lunch next door at Whaler's Village they have a food court with a few different options. As for dinner's go to Lahaina which the resort offers a free shuttle every hour. Also look for coupons at the airport as well as Snokel Bob's which is all over the place. Snokeling at Blackrock is pretty good but make sure you check out a few places to rent the gear as price vary considerably. Don't be afraid of the Conseiges as they are there to help and not suck you into things. We did however go to a timeshare presentation for 90 minutes which we got a free round of golf ($190 value) and were up front and had no intentions on buying. Go to the ABC store or grocery store to buy booze and you will save a boat load and we even brought it poolside a few days the only thing is keeping it cold. Great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. Not much happens at night and the shuttles from Lahaina stop at 10:30pm but its hard to stay up late anyways because your up so early every day anyways. That the time change affect you as well Anyone looking for a great place to relax and enjoy life this is the spot for you. We are defiantly going back.

I did not like the following things about the hotel: 1. The front desk and concierge staff were not friendly and did not ... inform us of nightly entertainment at the hotel or bus services provided by the hotel. 2. There is a $25 per day resort charge that should be quoted at the time of booking or check-in. This is a hidden charge that is not disclosed until it's too late to make another hotel reservation or choice. 3. There were not enough parking spaces for guests.

My husband and I had the most perfect 5 days in Maui, thanks to the Westin. The only problem we had was our room we were ... first given was a little dirty. We told the front desk and we were upgraded into a Ocean View room. This made our honeymoon that much better. The Westin sent us a bottle of Champagne to help celebrate the occasion. Our honeymoon was more than we ever expected, and the Westin Maui was more than we expected as well. You must go to the luau, it was incredible! Food is a bit pricy, but there is Whalers Village a short walk away where you can shop and eat as well. The Sheraton was just a ways away and we walked through it, and it was nothing compared to the Westin. Book the Westin and you can't go wrong!

Lahania offers a lot of nice places to dine and are alot cheaper then the hotel. You might have a short wait but you can walk around and enjoy the shops while you wait. Go to Safeway's and buy snacks for your trip to the beach and to eat while at the pool or in your room.
