The best beach
Excellent location and beach. I loved swimming in the ocean and the sand is so soft. We had a very nice room with a very comfortable bed. However our room was over the fan for the kitchen and when you opened the door you got a lot of noise.

Great location
Location was perfect.. Could walk or take free shuttle to Whaler's Village or further up the coastline. Restaurant was pretty casual affair/cuisine..ok. Not hotty tottie... good evening show. And best part the WHALES.. also beach toys were readily available. This is an older accomodation that has beautiful grounds - good staff, it just needs a little updating.

Stay in Royal Lahaina was lukewarm
To start with, let me state clearly that I have not stayed in another Maui (Lahaina) resort other than Royal Lahaina. So my basis for comparison is against the Sheraton resort at Keauhou Bay at Big Island. I paid much less in Sheraton but got much more value in return. The rooms at the Royal Lahaina were quite crampy (I stayed in a Partial Ocean View room) althrough the decor was very appropriate aesthetically. The resort lacked large, flowing swimming pools. The existing pools were something you usually see in apartment complexes. There were also not much entertainment options (either at the pool or elsewhere) for kids. I was travelling woth my 4 year old daughter and was disappointed in that regard. Overall, the resort did not blow me over and I will shop around more (and probably spend a few dollars more) to try out another reosrt in the area.

very good family vacation spot.
Everything was very good except the restaurant could be better if they had a better selection of items. Also they serve only high starchy white rice with most dinner selections. It would be much better if they gave a choice of white rice. brown rice or a regular or sweet potato.

BEAUTIFUL VIEW
My wife and I stayed in cottage unit. Beautiful setting, close to the beach, many photo opportunity, next to golf course, easy access to main hotel. But within 30 min to the airport, roughly about 20 miles away.

Royal Lahaina Resort
We didn't know what to expect when you book a vacation for our family of with their spouses and a grand-daughter of 7 months. Our stay couldn't have been better. Not only did our agent exceed our expectations of accommodations but the staff at the Royal Lahaina were enthusiastic about making our stay the most enjoyable as possible, and they did. Thank you for a wonderful week that we all will never forget.

The hotel served a wide variety of entries which gave our picky eaters a choice. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was what you would expect from a tropical island.

good enough
Room service was decent. Staff was pretty friendly, I smoked so many cigarettes in that room even after they told me not to like five times and I still got my initial 100 dollar deposit back. Pretty legit
