Napili Shores...okay
Our check in was a breeze. Everything was prepared. That was the last we saw of staff. I inquired about getting clean beach towels. The front desk attendant was on the phone on a personal call before she put the phone at her neck to ask what I needed. I told her that I could wait, and she said no, that's okay. She let me know that if I needed beach towels, I was to go to the laundry room and " trade out" between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. It was 5:05 when I finally arrived at the laundry room. Oh yea, I did hear from staff again, when they delivered a note to inform us that they would be spraying for pest control the following morning and we would have to leave our room at those times. It noted that if we had an issue with spraying, to call the front desk. I did so politely and the attendant just hung up. I guess it wasn't such an option after all. Our room was very hot even with the cross winds provided when leaving the doors open. The pool was too cool, at ocean temps, which nagates the purpose of having a pool in the first place. Good thing we were in paradise, cuz the hotel experience was just ok. A place to cook, sleep and store your thngs.

Short drive from hotel
At the Safeway complex off the first exit to Lahina, buy a boogie board for $17 and water tube for $3.99 at pharmacy...less than renting for a week. Luau was amazingly entertaining for the price...best in the world, authentic cuizine. Stock fridge and cook in room.

Great Value, Great Place!
We loved it here, the room was well equipped and had a wonderful view of the ocean and Molokai. Loved watching the whales from our lanai. We didn't mind the fact that it wasn't one of those glitzy expensive resorts. Very laid back with an old school charm.

Maui break
This is the second time I have stayed at the Outrigger Napili Shores and I will stay again. We stayed in a room with an ocean view and I highly recommend this. The Gazebo restaurant is wonderful, very good location to shops and rental stores and the beach is perfect.

Great overall place
This place was great for our trip. Easy to get to beaches, nice sunrise/sunset views, very well taken care of. Not necessarily the best place for kids, as other resorts like the Westin cater to them more.

Maui Revisited
We'll definitely be back! This was our second trip to Maui and much more relaxing/carefree than the first. Napili Shores is a great location - our studio condo was on the bottom level - the layout was perfect, lots of space, clean, and well furnished. We paid a little extra for the ocean view but well worth it! We utilized the great Weber gas bbq's on a couple of occasions, the laundry facility was nice (soap can be purchased at the front desk), both pools were well maintained, etc. The beach was a short walk, turtles could be seen in the bay, we were able to snorkel right there, and viewed many a beautiful sunset! You can be quite content not leaving the property. It seemed that a number of the guests there were "repeats" (couples and families) , and we'll definitely be joining them.

Great hotel
My teen daughter and I stayed in a garden view studio. It was much larger than I expected, with a nice well stocked kitchen, a large flat screen tv, and a king sized bed, which was firm and comfortable. The hotel had more rooms than I expected, on large grounds, several 2 story buildings. The pools were lovely and the grounds well maintained. It was a short walk to Napili beach, where the waves were much rougher for several days than we had expected due to stormy weather. Napili Shores was a great resting place for day trips to South Maui for a snorkeling trip, to Upcountry for horseback riding on Piikolo Ranch, and the Feast of Lele in Laihaina. I would definitely recommend it and would love to return again.

Great relaxing family holiday!
If you are looking for a holiday that isn't about alot of shopping, partying and hanging out with the rich and famous. This is it! A great family vacation. The beach, barbi- Qs, snorkeling, eating out a few times. Perfect! The restaurant at the hotel was great, the breakfast gazebo is a bit over- rated but worh a try just call in your order and eat it at home the wait is too long! The Sea restaurant a short walk down the beach was really nice, more upscale, yummy appetizers between 2-5 pm. This hotel is like being at home but in paradise! We walked along the strip of more luxury hotels and the people were packed in like sardines and you need to get up early to get a chair in a good spot. Not here! Very casual! Try to get a room where the bedroom windows DON'T back on to the parking or you will not sleep in much!

A wonderful snorkeling bay nearby to swim with the turtles. Ask at the hotel, kind of a secret! If you have kids register them at the desk and they will get a explorer backpack with an educational book about the wildlife and other surprises.
