Birthday Getaway

Would recommend Sun, Jan 10, 2016
I planned a birthday trip to Maui for my family and friends. We had a large party at the hotel. The rooms were really nice. We decided to purchase groceries and each room would host a night. The kitchens were well equipped. The bedroom and bathroom was really nice and spacious. The pool area is nice and they had BBQ grills and sitting areas outside, which we took advantage of as a group. I wish that the beach was nicer. We spent more time at the pool because it was more accessible.

Partial Ocean View Means Peekaboo View

Would not recommend Wed, Oct 21, 2015
This hotel is newer, clean, has nicely appointed kitchens and baths, and has a pleasant staff. We had two issues: 1-the pools are too few and too small for the number of guests they are meant to accommodate and 2-our room had a peekaboo ocean view though it was called a partial ocean view. To see the ocean, you must be standing on the balcony looking over trees and between 3 other buildings, or hanging off the edge of the balcony in another direction. Our room number was 538 in the Konea building and we booked a partial ocean view (the best view available for a 1 bedroom). Upon check in, we immediately requested a correction in room location and offered to take a studio if it had a true ocean view. They were not able to give us an answer on our request until the following day and were not able to accommodate what they had sold us online. We were travelling with a 6 month old infant and knew we would be spending a lot of time in the room because of him. The view was very important to us when booking and we are disappointed with how this was advertised.

Resort for families

Would recommend Sun, Oct 18, 2015
Staff are nice and friendly. They provide you with anything you need. Rooms are very comfortable and nice. This would be a nice hotel for families with children. If you are a couple with no kids, this won't be a romantic quiet hotel. There are 3 pools and kids are every where. There is no adult only pool.

Love this Resort

Would recommend Wed, Oct 14, 2015
We have stayed here 6 years in a row. Staff is helpful and friendly. Hotel is kid friendly with a few different pools and a slide. Rooms are clean and we like that there is a kitchenette and w/d in the room. Partial Ocean View has a spectacular view and balcony. We leave happy every time. Dukes is on the grounds they could use a little more staff at times or a second restraunt but not really complaining just a suggestion.

Honeymoon

It was amazing. Highly recommended. Amazing views of the beach and mountain. We stayed towards the mountain side and the sunrise was fantastic! I would recommend snorkeling at the beach there. It was reasonably priced and we saw some amazing coral life.

Summer vacation

Would recommend Wed, Aug 12, 2015
The resort is really lovely, close to shopping centre for your groceries and close to other resorts for dinners and special lua'a events. It has a gourmet market within the premises if you prefer to buy necessities within the resort...it's a bit pricey though. There's a spa in the premises...which was ok, a bit pricey though when compared to the spa service I am used to in New York for less amount. The concierge (Elise) was very helpful in helping me plan excursions for my son and I...including helping with getting me in touch with babysitting company so I could go ziplining. 10 stars to Elise for her patience and great help.

Would recommend Fri, May 22, 2015
It's a perfect place for staycation! Close to Golf Courses for my golf fanatic husband and his friends. Close to the shopping mall at Whaler's Village. Enjoyed my walks with a friend around the resort and swimming pools all over to stay cool and enjoy. Overall, we're going back to Honua Kai Resort for sure!
