good place for money with some caveats
COndo was clean and properly furnished. Good location with closeby grocery, eating etc. Although it was ocean front, it is not exactly a beach. No sandy beach at all, just ocean water uptil the wall with lava rocks in the water. Also, the quality of bed was totally miserable with feeling of springs in the bed. woke up every day with back pain (I normally dont have a back pain). Otherwise it was fine.

This makes about our 6th stay at this property and keep going back due to the value for the price and the at-home atmosphere. We love the staff!

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
For us, it is all about the food! This property is a short drive (10 min max) from the town of Lahaina, with the Whaler's Village in between. Numerous places to eat with varying price ranges. Cannot go wrong with the food at the Hula Hut in Whalers Village, or the early-bird breakfast special at Cheeseburger in Paradise in Lahaina (includes coffee!)

The good, the bad, and the really ugly
Bad side: * Bad kitchen (stove broken) * payed parking ($8 per day) * No lock on bathroom * No bedroom door * Noisy fridge so if you sleep on sofa-bed, you first shut it down or you will awake all the night * Cockroaches in bathroom * One elevator for entire hotel, far away from corner rooms Good side: * good location * nice staff * nice beach access * nice landscaping * very clean pool and BBQ area * all surfing equipment rentals are near by * shopping/restaurants are 5 minutes drive

Very disappointed!
Check-in was ok until we were told there'd be a $8.00 a day parking fee! Upon entering our room we discovered little bugs crawling around the kitchen and bathroom. I notified the front desk and they said I could come down and get the bug spray!!! We had to "check out" our beach towels which we've never had to do at other resorts, plus we had to request a hair dryer and ironing board, as none were in the room. The unit wasn't very clean.

Excellent value
The staff was friendly. Despite no AC, the double slider doors onto the balcony looking out at Molokai provided enough breeze to keep things cool. There were no bugs (a great surprise after the last couple of places) and the location was very central. I would come back in a heartbeat. My only quibbles were the noisey yardwork on certain mornings, no Wi - Fi internet access and a ridiculous $8 charge to use the parking lot. That being said, the yardwork was limited to a few days and the staff didn't mind if I parked in front to avoid the charge. Also, there was a cable for internet if you brought your laptop (I only brouht my iPad). Great value! Most recommended!

Family Vacation
I have stayed at Paki Maui 2x last year. This trip was a huge disappointment. We booked our trip 2 months in advance and ended up with a 4th floor ocean front unit that was in bad shape. The room sizes were big but everything in the unit was dusty, very old, washer was not working and upon check in; there were laundry in the washing machine! Very disappointed in Paki this time around. We had VHS instead of any dvd players. Manager was not helpful at all.

Great price and location!
Great price for the location. It's obviously Maui, so you have to drive everywhere, but this hotel was not far from everything. Front staff is not always available (we arrived at 8:30pm). We had to get our keys in a box, which was a little confusing.

They charge $8 for parking, but we parked on the street. Street parking was easy to find and we never had trouble getting a spot. We also went out late as well and still was able to find a spot!

The Hotel with NO air conditioning!
The people at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The only thing was that there was no AC in the building at all. This was a shock to us however they were able to move us a room with a better breeze for additional charge! I think that hotel without air should have you agree to the fact that you don't know there wasn't any air. The management told us that most people that book through online are shocked to find that out!
