Very Nice Hotel
The hotel over-all is very nice. Great location, nice amenities, great grounds, very nice pool and lawn area right at the beach. Castaway Restaurant is very fun and good food too. Prices at the store and Castaways were very reasonable, didn't feel like you had to run out to get stuff, they had most of what you need. Joe at the front desk should get a raise. I don't care what he gets paid now, just give that man a raise. Now for the not so good part; the rooms vary quit a bit in their quality. they are time shares. Our room was clean but the bed was awful. The lanai furniture is not useable (broken) and there is mold around the a/c intake (we never turned it on anyway). Would we return? You bet, but I will be pickier with the bed. But then again any bed is ok with enough alcohol. We had enough alcohol.

Perfect place to relax
This is one of the few (or only?) low-rise hotels on Kaanapali beach, so if you stay in one of the 2-story rooms, it feels very homey. From the first floor rooms, you can actually walk from your lanai in your bare feet out onto the grass and down to the beach or pool. The restaurant serves excellent and reasonably priced meals, and you can eat outdoors, almost on the beach. Location is wonderful--a short walk to many other hotels or to the catamaran sunset cruise. And the Kaanapali Trolley comes every 1/2 hour to take you (for free!) to Whaler's Village for shopping and more dining options! We've stayed here several times, and will return again.

Awesome!
Hotel was awesome! Located right on the beach, close to black rock for great snorkeling. Staff was friendly and accomidating. We requested to switch rooms a few days into our trip due to neighbors with noisy kids playing outside and we were immediately taken care of. Room had a fully stocked kitchen and an awesome balcony. Free easy to access Wi-Fi. Wonderful way to spend our honeymoon Overall awesome!

LOVED THE LOCATION
We had a great experience with the room (size) and staff. However when it came to cleaning the room, one of the house keepers did not provide extra towels and didn't pick some up from the floor and didn't make the bed correctly. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

Great location -- not fancy
We like this hotel because it is near the end of Ka'anapali Beach and it doesn't get a lot of foot traffic from people passing through. It's got a great swimming beach and two of the best snorkelling spots are ateps away. The rooms are a little dated...but they are comfy and adequate. They have kitchens and there are bbq's located near the condos. The Castaway restaurant is a friendly, neighborhood-type bar/restaurant that has good food and drinks...and even a happy hour!

LOUD neighbors until MIDNIGHT - staff SHRUGGED!
we stayed in a lawn level condo. very dated decor with threadbare feel. had neighbors above us feeding birds daily, so the birds were at our feet at our table. neighbors next door threw parties outside until 11:00pm (the hotel info said "very quiet hours" begins at 9:00pm) . front desk sent security twice to no avail, then said they could do no more, exept give me the local police. are you kidding? last thing i would do would be to harrass the local police! VERY SINKING, ALONE, FEELING! if this is the emotion you are seeking on your vacation, stay at this ASTON resort!

BOX JELLY FISH - we together swam into a box jelly fish (didn't see it) sting was 4 hours of agony then tapering off over 24 hrs - intense experience, but didn't keep us out of the water later! FIRST AID TIP: generous white vinegar application keeps remaining nematocysts from firing. also, apply shaving cream and shave area to remove imbedded nematocysts. take benedryl, pain meds, keep laughing.

Good value, close to the awesome Kaanapali beach
We had a great time at the Maui Kaanapali Villas and stayed there for 1 week. We had 2 small kids and it is located closed to the beach which was great. It is bare bones in terms of amenities which is probably why it is on the cheaper side. The kitchen was very helpful and we prepared some meals in the room.
