Aston Kaanapali Shores

The Hotel is really good, rooms were clean and neat. Location was nice, there are some food places and grocery on walking distance. They have 2 pools on the property, my kid had fun in pools as she was sacred of ocean waves. I would surely recommend this place to others.

When I got to the hotel, I pulled into the garage and checked in. The staff was nice, and they upgraded me from a smaller hotel room to a studio, which was a nice suprise. There was no one there to help me with the bags (nor did they offer), but that was ok. The room was ok -- perfect for just me. I wasn't planning on staying in the room anyway! The kitchen had a weird smell, but I got used to it. The bathroom was fine, the bed was a little hard for my taste, but I slept fine. The only real complaint about the room was the air conditioning. That was tricky, and I had to keep getting the staff to come in and set it. I didn't have to wait long, so that was fine. They had two pools, and a very small beach area. However, during the orientation at the hotel, I learned about a few beaches that weren't far away that were a little easier to enter (because they were sandy not rocky). I appreciated the orientation, and I used the hotel to book the excursions. The location was great -- it was across the street from several restaurants and stores, so you could walk to them. It was also a short drive to the beach, malls and other restarants, so it was a great place to stay in terms of location.

Hotel was perfect with a great upgrade to the top level and a bottle of champaign on arrival. Beach is lovely and clean with perfect swimming conditions

We were pleasantly surprised at the hotel, the pools and grounds were great. Hotel needed some updating, (lack of lighting in bedrooms and balcony, better sofa bed) but staff were really friendly and courteous. We really loved the beach right at our front door, as well as small added surprises (hotel pool towels, dvds, free family photo, and free beach balls for the kids) Would stay here again.

The Aston Kaanapali Shores is very conveniently located walking distance to shops, stores and steps from the beach. It is an older hotel, but the rooms are completely updated, so very nice inside. Don't plan on checking in before 3pm, because it is not going to happen. Our standard room was not ready on time, so they upgraded us to a larger room which was nice, but it was strangely located just next to the lobby between a flower shop and a kids daycare room - strange location, but was actually convenient and quite nice (room 133). Parking is $9/day, and no other options, so plan on paying for this.

This was our 6th time staying at this resort and once again it didn't disappoint. This resort is located 10 minutes south of Kapalua Bay area and 5 minutes north of the Whaler Village area and 10 minutes north of Lahaina ...putting you within easy reach of all the fun places. There's a grocery store across the street along with other great local eateries. We snorkeled at Napili Bay, Kapalua Bay and Airport Beach and they were all excellent. North Ka'anapali beach extends about one and a half miles south from here so there's plenty of room for sunset walks along the beach. The restaurant at this resort is very good. The staff was always friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back.

This was my fifth time staying here over 10 years. Have always gone back because it feels like home. It's not the fanciest, the prettiest, or the most luxurious but the staff is friendly, it's never been crowded, it's clean, great service, restaurants and grocery store across the street, another nice hotel next door to eat at. The tennis courts are usually available. The pool is a little on the small side but great stretch of beach right in front. Wonderful restaurant. They gradually update the hotel and it needs a coat of paint. They just added a resort fee but it includes new dvds, wifi and more.

The hotel property was beautiful, but when we went into our room, it left a lot to be desired. The room had an old smell. The carpets (which they were renovating in some units while we were there) were very old as was the couch. I didn't really want to sit down. The kitchen and bathroom had been updated and were fine for our stay. The bedroom needs some new bedding and it was dark. It is in the back of the condo, so the small window provided very little light. The balcony was nice and we could see the ocean from it. The place was fine, but next time I go to Maui, I will be looking for a nicer, newer room. I want to feel comfortable when I am in my room even though we spent a lot of time out of it!

This resort was perfect. The staff was knowledgable and very friendly. The website needs to be updated because it is a lot better than the site portrays.

Hotel is adequate, nice, clean, but not anything exceptional. The parking is a bit of a mess at certain busy times considering you are paying $ 10 a day for it. Likewise you will be charged a resort fee of approx $ 10 per day. I had issues with the internet my entire stay, staff will only refer you to the provider's internet customer support no. and who wants to deal with that on vacation. Also requested late check out due to late night flight but was only granted 1 additional hour.
