Perfect balance of comfort, location and price

Would recommend Sun, Dec 13, 2015
Loved the stay. The location was beautiful. Staff was very helpful and friendly without being pushy. Not too crowded, which was nice, but probably because it was early December. Mainly younger and middle aged with occasional kids.

Not a great return for the money

Would not recommend Fri, Nov 27, 2015
They would charge us for the minutest things that are required for people vacationing like a microwave for example. Though the room itself is neat, the hotel is old and could easily be avoided in favor of more contemporary looking, stylish and cheaper hotels in the area.

Great place to stay

Would recommend Sat, Nov 21, 2015
This was our first trip to Hawaii. The resort is very nice with a great setting. It is in an older part. The resort itself is older but it has been kept up. There is not a lot around the resort but we liked that part. You have to drive to the tourist areas but when its busy there you have a nice quite place to relax at. Our room was ocean front, awesome views. Most nights the manta ray boats was straight out our window. we could see the rays from our room. If you are looking for a quite clean place to stay it would be hard to beat for the money.

Business trip to Kona

Would recommend Sat, Nov 14, 2015
It helps to have a car when visiting the Sheraton Kona. Downtown Kona is about 20 minutes away (lots of shops and restaurants). The airport is about 40 minutes from the hotel. It would have been nice to have more restaurant options. The coffee café is nice and services light breakfast and great coffee. If the hotel is busy, self parking can be difficult. There is no beach, but the pool is decent. It could use some more chairs though.

The only complaint about our room was the low water pressure/temperature in the shower. Couldn't get very hot water. Other than that, great hotel & staff.

Below expectations

Would not recommend Mon, Sep 7, 2015
1. We had difficulty finding our room when we checked in. Signs are not properly placed. It has a weird layout. Two staff that we asked gave us wrong direction. 2. Wifi totally not working in our room. We had to go outside the room just to get internet connection. 3. TV remote not working properly. 4. We tried to dial 0 for room service and nobody answering the phone. We tried to call many times. 5. Thermostat doesnt allow you to go below 67 degrees. It was warm in the room. 6. Paid for oceanview and we only see the pool. You really have to go outside the sliding door to see a small view of the ocean. 7. The workers doesnt know how to greet or acknowledge guests. 8. Pool is only open until 8pm. 9. During checkout, lady just printed the receipt and thats it. Didnt even ask about our stay. Some of their workers should not be in hospitality industry. 10. Watch out for the valet parking attendants. They drive those cars like they are in a speedway or a race. One almost hit us while entering the self parking area. Positive: 1. Good location 2. Ryan from concierge did an awesome job helping us in booking our zipline adventure. 3. If you choose not to have your room clean that day, they will give you 5 dollars voucher.

Best family trip of all Hawaii Vacation

Would recommend Thu, Aug 20, 2015
Before booking the trip, I was searching for a particular area city where we can have the best oceanfront resort and oceanfront view of the sea. I have look at the Hapuna Prince, Hilton Waikola, and Waikola Marriot and was very skeptical about where to stay. After a couple of days seaching, I decided to booked at the Sheraton at Keahou Bay south of the main City of Kailua Kona. Wow, best decision I have made. We have the oceanfront room with the oceanfront pool and the oceanfront resort located on the edge of a cliff looking down at the open seas. Manta rays are there at night by the resort, Dolfins are there in the morning. Many excursions from other hotel resorts have to come there to do their excursion. Best view of the ocean an mountain location of all Big Island Resorts.

Not worth the stay.

Would not recommend Thu, Aug 6, 2015
Room's were pretty standard, started out with a drawer that wouldn't stay closed, had to wedge it closed and a safe that did not work, safe was fixed. Day 2, not enough or proper towels left in room, no water bottles left, had to call again, in room phone not working properly. Day 3 room was not cleaned by 3:30. called again, got back in evening still not proper towels left. Day 4 same problem, that night at 3 AM, alarm goes off and no explanation, pool also closed at 8 daily yet pool towel guy closed at 7. Just terrible service all around. Would never stay here again.
