Great Stay
We went to Hawaii to get married and this hotel was originally reccomended to us by a friend. The staff was very accomadating and always friendly. You can't beat the views and the sounds of crashing waves! Don the Beachcomber Bar and Restaurant is also ocean side and the food was excellent the night we ate there and it was great having drinks in the evenings while looking out to the ocean. The location was good and there was alot of accessible restaurants and bars within walking distance. We stayed in the newly renovated Alii tower and the room was quite comfortable and clean. There was a small refrigerator in a seperate wet bar area and the only thing we really would have liked to see is a microwave as well. There was a safe in the room which was nice. We would definately reccomend this hotel to anyone and would stay again ourselves in the future.

Great place to stay in Kona. Shopping within walking distance.
The Royal Kona resort was an excellent place to stay. the room had a corner balcony which overlooked their mann made beach/ swimming lagoon. The bathroom had 2 vanities one located in the shower area and another separate from the shower area. The bed and bedding was extremely comfortable. The staff gets an A+ for their wonderful hospitality. I would recommend this hotel to anybody wishing to stay in Kona.

Great location, musty smell
Perfect location. I had an awesome room with two balconies overlooking the ocean. Only complaints were that the room smelled very musty and that the decor seemed slightly dated.

Fabulous location
Arguably the best value on the Big Island. Our oceanview was an added bonus, and the in-room refrigerator made it easy to relax and plan our meals. This was our second visit and my wife wants to come back, again. Finally, we strongly recommend the luau!

Great amenities and helpful staff
The Royal Kona Resort was very comfortable and full of activities. The location, which is Alii Drive, is full of shops, restaurants, and spas. The bathroom was bigger than I expected and the closet was a decent size. The Spa staff was very friendly and I feel that I got my money's worth. The restaurant was great and when I first sat down, I had fresh pineapple and soft bread and butter. The Bar was great and if you go there during happy hour, pina coladas are 50% off!
