Great Family Vacation

Would recommend Wed, Dec 16, 2015
We've never stayed at this hotel, however even though its an older hotel we were pleasantly surprised how comfortable and inviting it was. The various quiet sitting chairs for reading or relaxing, great kids pool and awesome pool bar/restuarant made our trip to Kona very enjoyable. The hotel staff were kind and extra attentive to our needs. We'd definitely recommend staying at the Royal Kona Resort with your family or secret get away.

Weekend visit

Would recommend Wed, Dec 9, 2015
I used this hotel because it was very reasonably priced. And it was worth the cost. However, there is no airport shuttle, parking is $10/night and internet also is $10/night. Nice bar and restaurant on the water. Prices were reasonable also. Bring some instant coffee because the room had 1 brewing pod thing. Also, no hairdryer in bathroom. But I would stay here again without hesitation.

Couple celebration

Would recommend Tue, Nov 24, 2015
The location of this hotel is awesome! Right on the beach where the waves crash on the rocks with a view around the curved coastline towards the center of town. The hotel has great potential (and looks like it was once really nice) but needs to be upgraded. Staff at the front desk was only moderately helpful. We were shocked to find that they charged almost $10 a day to use the Wi-Fi! On the bright side, my wife dropped an earring down the sink and they sent housekeeping up immediately and he retrieved it - happy wife, happy life!

Week Escape

Would recommend Fri, Nov 13, 2015
This is a good value tourist based hotel in a great location. It is clean, comfortable, good service, and everything worked in our room except the safe. It has a great outdoor/indoor bar area with good happy hour (go early on tourist bus days) and a special small private lagoon area to swim and snorkel in. The hotel is extremely dated and could use some serious updating and had a slight musty smell in the room but had nice balconys and A/C worked well. The amenities were good and really had no complaints. Free internet at the bar only but you will be charged $7/day in parking.

Overpriced, terrible parking

Would not recommend Tue, Oct 27, 2015
The location was great, nice ocean view, but parking was $10 for one night, and we finally found a spot about a quarter of a mile from the room. Only two towels, despite the room having two double beds, two paper cups, enough supplies for two cups of coffee - bare minimum of supplies. Wifi was $10 extra, and more if you wanted to connect more than one device! The two upholstered chairs were quite stained, but comfortable.

Royal Kona Resort

Would recommend Sat, Oct 17, 2015
We enjoyed the view from the balcony. We spent some time there. The location is great right on the water. The first one can do after arriving is to go to Dons bar and order a Mai Tai, sitting looking out over the Pacific Ocean. You are in paradise. Staff was very good and prompt. Wi Fi should be included. You should not have to pay extra for it. Charging for parking is also poor. Laila Axen
