Wonderful place to spend a couple of days

I have stayed here a few times over the past 30 years. It is always very clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. It is right in the beginning of the shops, dining, and galleries.

Excellent stay at perfect location

Our Hawaiian vacation was in Hilo, but we went to Kona for one night. This hotel was right across the street from the luau and ocean activity we went to and in addition was in the perfect location for food and shopping. Very affordable, comfortable and super nice hotel staff. Would definately stay here again. We been to the other Seaside family hotels and have never been dissappointed.

Great Weekend Getaway

This weekend was great to get away from the hustle and bustle of home and work. Complimentary breakfast at Tante's Restraunt with the view of the ocean right across the street. It was nothing like fine dining but it was relaxing, food was good, and workers were friendly. Overall, this hotel was comfortable. The only disappointment was the parking. Although I got a parking pass, there wasn't any parking in the evening so I had to park down the street in a public parking area and walk to the hotel.

Friendly service and great price.

While in Kona, we did church service at the Temple. The Hotel was in a great location and had friendly people all around to assist us. Parking was a challenge, but we were very fortunate to always have a space available for us.

good clean friendly inexpensive seaside

If you want a basic spot in a great locatio, this is it. The snorkeling across the street is excellent. The patio allows you to people watch and ocean watch. There were ants in the bathroom. They didn't bite and on the ground floor the seperation between indoor and out isn't hermetically sealed, which is fine. The ac window units were chintzy, but worked. The staff was extra friendly. And the tsunami barely made a dent in our trip.

Plus and minus

The hotel was nice with a good location, but the hotel may not have enough parking spaces in its lot for guests when the hotel is full.

Flashback in Time

Two of my friends and I recently stayed at the Kona Seaside Hotel. We had just spent 6 days scuba diving in Maui and were looking forward to doing more of the same on the Big Island. However, unlike our accomodations in Maui (which were fantastic), the Kona Seaside Hotel reminded me of something out of a bad 70's movie. The room we stayed in was small and dingy and the furnishings were very outdated. Their "ice bucket" consisted of nothing more than a large styrofoam cup and the bath towels were ridiculously small as well. On the plus side, there were a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. But outside of the location, the Kona Seaside Hotel didn't have much else to offer.
