good clean friendly inexpensive seaside

If you want a basic spot in a great locatio, this is it. The snorkeling across the street is excellent. The patio allows you to people watch and ocean watch. There were ants in the bathroom. They didn't bite and on the ground floor the seperation between indoor and out isn't hermetically sealed, which is fine. The ac window units were chintzy, but worked. The staff was extra friendly. And the tsunami barely made a dent in our trip.

ehhhhhh...

Paid for a "Garden view", got a "stoplight view" on what may be one of the busiest corners in town. You will want a G-view that does not face the street. Room was clean, but we got two small beds instead of the King for my wife & I. Don't bother with the complimentary breakfast if you have an early flight, the restaurant doesn't open until seven (maybe). Plan ahead to get a cab to the airport, there is no transport arrangements by the hotel. Oh yeah, and my 6:00 wakeup call somehow got moved to 7:30.... no problem, the morning traffic is plenty loud. I'd give it an OK if you can live with the glitches.

Great hotel with great location!

We were very impressed with this hotel. The location was great! A short walk to lots of little stores and lots of different restaurants on/across from water. The staff were very helpful. We did not personally use the pools but they looked very nice and clean. The room was clean and a good size with a nice large balcony on it. We had free breakfast at the restuarant on site and it was great, not your normal free hotel breakfast it included, eggs, bacon, pancakes, home fries and toast. It was a great start to every day!

Great location

Location was great to shops, restaurants, ocean, easy walk. Breakfast at a local restaurant was included and was very nice. Only downside was the noise from the street. Hotel sits in a triangle and you get the noise from all sides. Does finally quiet down at late night. Nothing fancy about hotel, but okay for a couple night stay.

Plus and minus

The hotel was nice with a good location, but the hotel may not have enough parking spaces in its lot for guests when the hotel is full.

Minimal, nice

Positive experience, 1-night stay. The breakfast package could be improved, but the location is nice, the service is respectful, and the front desk is kind and available. I would recommend it if you are traveling on a budget

Great Value

The hotel is old and the furniture is a little dated but it was very clean, the service was great, Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. The location is nice because it was in the heart of Kona. We thought it was a great value considering the price of other accommidations.
