    Kona summer vacation -- paradise

What a wonderful vacation. One of our goals was to get some rest and relaxation. We were able to achieve that on our first floor lanai and at the pool. We did some shopping, hiking, snorkeling and visited the volcano. Very relaxing trip and wonderful accommodations.

Short drive to shopping on Alii Street -- pool was at the forefront of our eyes. Lanai outside of our living room and volcano was 2 hours on a scenic drive

There is Costco not far from the hotel. They carry local food specialties not found in any other Costco. Also try the pineapples! Inexpensive and delicious.

    Vacation with kids

We wanted to take a break from the grind with our 2 kids and this place was perfect for that ! The resort is very conveniently located close to Highway 11, there is a shopping complex a hop, skip and jump away for all essential groceries, a few restaurants and a movie theater. The resort itself has 2 pools, a restaurant, close to a golf course - very nice location. Its a 10 minute drive from downtown Kona - but we liked being away from it all - yet close enough to the action if we wanted to be there. We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa which has a decent sized bedroom, 2 bathrooms and sofa sleeper in the living room. We have 2 children under the age of 10 - so that worked out fine for us. The kitchen was adequately equipped. We could see the ocean from between the buildings in front of us - I guess that is what they meant by "ocean view"!! There is no beach off the property - although it is walking distance from a beach - the water seemed very rough from where we could see it and we didn't actually go there. There are plenty of calmer beaches on Ali'i drive for small kids to play with so it wasn't a problem for us. The resort provided soaps but no shampoos, shower caps which we thought was odd - but it wasn't an issue to us. Overall - a great quiet, convenient place if you are looking for a holiday. I would definitely recommend it to anybody and look forward to returning there soon.

    Great Value for the Price

Centrally located, comfortable and well appointed. Like staying in a fully outfitted apartment. Last redecoration was probably a few years ago but the facilities and furnishings are very well kept up. I'd say everything was tiptop, kitchen was fully equipped down to mixing bowls and baking sheets. Couldn't be happier. Only the TV was older (not flat screen). But in Hawaii who cares about TV!

    Family friendly

We liked the location of Knoa Coast Resort as it was outside the downtown area but not too far if we wanted to go to the downtown area. It was easily accessible from highways 19 and 11 but relying too heavily on GPS caused us to miss the easy access to highway 11 (which starts around the shopping center above this resort). Rooms were decent and had washer, dryer, microwave, dish washer and ironing facility.

    Kona Coast Vacation

This resort is exceptionally well maintained and the landscaping was beautiful. Close to Keauhou Shopping Center for dining groceries and movies, and right on Alii Drive which provides access to several Farmers Markets. Fitness room could use some upgrading / equipment repair. The pineapple furniture [bed posts & chairs] is sharp so be carefull

Great price, location for family getaway

The resort is well maintained. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well equiped (full kitchen, washer/dryer). Very close to Keauhou Shopping Center. The only thing missing is the beach access, but there are good beaches around.

Great place at a great deal!

We stayed here with our two kids and had a fabulous time. All of the condos have either a water view or golf course view. We had a ground floor unit which was perfect for us because the kids could run around in the grass and play ball and tag. They have gas grills, plus an herb garden for guest use. There's a nice view of the ocean from the pool and hot tub, and a pool side bar and restaraunt for drinks and food. Quiet, relaxing and clean. I highly recommend it!

Load up at the Costco for your groceries on the first day. Also, gas at Costco is 40 cents per gallon cheaper than other stations. It's only 1 mile from the airport, so fill up your rental car there before returning it!
