Just Right

We just needed a place to lay our heads for the night - but we got so much more. The room was quiet and clean the staff was friendly and it was within walking distance to everything.

Great place in the heart of Kona!

The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was super comfortable! The view was only ok, but how long do you really stay in a hotel room. It was modernly decorated and loved the fact that it was close to some historical sites around Kona. The staff was friendly and professional.

Still renovating

they are again renovating the lobby. Paint and other vapors greeted us upon arrival. Nearly all shops are closed.

Great all around - Completely renovated

Ignore any older reviews you read about this hotel. As of March 2010, this place has been thoroughly renovated (some work is still going on in a few places, but was not intrusive) and is really lovely. The rooms are beautiful, the pool was perfect, the location is great, the beach was perfect for our very young kids (calm)... On-site dining is really reasonable... the breakfast buffet was great, and our family had a nice snack-ish dinner at the poolside bare late one evening. Easy walking distance to all the sights in downtown Kona. All around a great place and we definitely felt the price was appropriate.

Breakfast buffet - looks pricy at first glance, but you'll probably not do better anywhere else within walking distance, and it's a great breakfast.

Great Place for the price

I was traveling with my family. We had a great time there, but if they would of offered shuttle service to Kona Airport that would have been way more convenient than finding a ride. Other than that is was a great stay. The rooms were a little small but nice and clean.

No Complaints

Great location right by the pier and shopping Easy to find and close to the airport Had fun watching locals fishing at the beach next to the hotel The Friday night buffet was rather expensive but nearby restaurants are walking distance They charge $10/day to park, but got a voucher for a free $20 bag to pick up at a shop across the street and wireless Internet is free Room was very nice with a small fridge and coffeemaker Pretty good overall

Economic slump evident at hotel

Although the service was descent, it was sad to see the hotel so empty. There was no one else on the elevators; we seen only one other person on the floor we stayed. It was pitiful to see all the empty stores in the lobby area. Don't understand why the hotel can't give the locals a better rate; it may help to generate some business.

Rooms need an uplft!

Rooms were dark and outdated. There was a musty smell and it didn't look clean. When choosing this hotel, the picture shown was of their renovated rooms, which I thought we would be in. A little deceiving, but they said that after August 2009, all rooms will be renovated. So, might give it another try...
