Outrigger Kanaloa at Kona

A 9 day visit. Place is at end of residential road and isolated. You can not walk anywhere off compound. Great bedroom with K bed, great modern bath, sad kitchen with marginal appliances, no useful dinning area and large living room. 2 Lanai: 1 off bedroom looks at garage, 1 off front looks at distant fairway and other condos. (No views of anything) Housekeeping every 3rd day has been discontinued. Gated but gate is always open. Everything is several miles away. Buildings are very close, almost urban setting. 3 nice pools and great staff.

My family and I had a great time during our visit. The room/condo was clean and very nice. The staff was friendly and we would recommend this business to anyone.

Nice complex south of the busiest tourist action, great location close to snorkeling. Quiet until a junior high basketball team moved in above us...but we would go back.

We picked the Outrigger Konaloa at Kona from the internet, and were very pleased with the choice for our 3-generation family vacation in Hawaii. Our first-floor unit was spacious and comfortable, with great view of the golf course and ocean. It was not air conditioned, but was comfortable with ceiling fans and open vent louvers. The location is remote from Kona center, but within walking distance of a good shopping center with grocery, drugstore, and several good restaurants. With a one-year-old, we didn't do many of the more adventurous activities, but visited beaches on the Kohala Coast, and made one day trip around the entire island, including stops at Waimea, Waipio Bay, Hilo, and Volcano National Park. The restaurants and activities recommended by [...], the Activities Director, were all right on! Only disappointment with the condos was that the beautiful ocean-side pool and cafe were closed for renovation. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Very friendly staff. Our plane landed late and we had not been able to call ahead to advise we would be late checking in. It was absolutely "No Problem", our keys and information was waiting at the security entrance. The condo was very welcoming when we arrived and was cleaned every 3 days. It was very quiet and relaxing, and close to all the best beaches.

Closed one of the pools and hottub while we were their.I wanted the extra pools for the kids.Internet service bad.Finding the hotel was bad,no signs for it.It was nosiy every morning with truck.The only day that was quiet was Sunday.

This is our first time in Hawaii. Not knowing what is good and what is better, we decided to find a hotel that is quite and restful. This hotel is absolutely the best one I have ever had and I am very happy to have it for our honeymoon. All the rooms are very large, living room, kitchen, bedroom and even front and back porches. We can see the ocean from our back porch and great sunset in our front porch. We just love it.

The grounds are beautiful and fastidiously maintained. There is no beach access (which is clear from the [...] description, but it may be of assistance to know that the best beaches are on the Kohala coast and are at least a half an hour away). The cleaning of the rooms was to occur every three days, but we were unable to figure out how they calculated "three days"... It was more like every fourth or fifth day. At times, we felt that the owners of the units were not happy about the use of the premises and amenities by the Outrigger guests.

The condo was very "home-like". Seperate rooms, nice furniture. Our problem was, on the Big Island, we were hardly ever in the condo! We would get up at 6 or 7 in the morning and be gone all day until 7 or 8 at night. There is a new shopping mall up the hill that has good restaurants and a grocery store. I thought the place might be older, but it seemed very well kept. I would stay there again.

Easy to find, just south of Kona Town. Our unit overlooked the pool and the ocean. Very clean. Beautiful view of the ocean. Kitchen was clean and had all the items you would need. Fantastic gas grill just outside by the pool. We cooked our own food an saved a ton of money. Bathrooms are clean. Great tennis courts. We did not use the A/C and felt very comfortable with the ocean breeze and ceiling fans. Would rent again, but stay longer!
