Great for the family

The grounds are pristine and laid out well for playing catch, frisbee or tag in between time in the ocean. Lots of children running around and a safe beach right out front for catching a first wave. Sunsets from the grass lawn or 4 steps down on the beach were fantastic with a Mai Tai in hand. It is close to a good mellow year round surf break Waiohai and rental equipment is right there to so save the 150 to 300 buck and hassle of bringing your own boards. The pool and water slide are best for small kids and hot tub was a bit cool but not a major concern. Plenty of eating options within a five minute walk and many more within a mile. We will return to Castle Kiahuna Plantation & The Beach Bungalows on our next trip to Kauai.

Our home away from home at Poipu

The resort at the Kiahuna Plantation was a great way to take an economical vacation to the south shore of Kauai. We will be staying there again.

Not worth it!!

The rooms were noisy, the walls are paper thin and could hear everything next to you and above you. The room was hot and could not be cooled down since there are no air conditioners in any of the rooms. The pool is not co-located with the hotel and when you do get there, have to cross the main street and walk another 1/4 to 1/2 mile, the pool is old and outdated. Pay a little more and get a place that offers a/c and a pool co-located.

Great get-away

The Kiahuna Plantation is beautiful, with lovely condos, and wonderful garden setting. The beach is lovely, and the staff at the beach hut was great. Even though our condo was close to the road, the noise was not really noticeable, and its a lovely walk to anywhere around. The room was clean and cool, with everything we needed for a week in paradise. The Plantation Garden Restaurant was the best place we ate all week!

Living Foods Market in Poipu beach shopping center was the best (Poipu Road, Poipu, Kauai, HI)! It has everything you need for your visit, whether you want to cook in, snack, or take a ready made picnic! All local produce.

Great place to relax

We had a great time at this hotel. The beach and shopping were within walking distance that made it very nice. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The only thing we didn't like was there were A LOT of people driving carts around all day long that got in your way.

Kiahuna vacation

Vacation improved after we asked to move from a dirty, outdated, no view room to an upgraded pricier room in the middle of the property for additional money. Can't beat the location, beach, free beach chairs and towels. Condo is great for cooking breakfast, lunch, which saves a ton of money.

Stop at Costco and local grocery stores on way to the Kiahuna to stock up on groceries. Go to the farmers market for fruits and veggies.

Castle Kiahuna vacation

Usually stay at Kiahuna Plantation..but with Outrigger not Castle...initially was assigned a dated,no view, room near road. Complained to front desk and was given option to move which we did and were very happy with remainder of stay. Staff are very friendly, housekeeping excellent, condos and grounds are nice with excellent location. Buy food at Costco, grocery stores, and farmers market and cook...you will save a ton of money. Foam ear plugs let you sleep peacefully if noisy neighbors or roosters crowing bother you! Love Kauai!!
