Served the purpose

The garden view room we had in back by the street on the top of the property were just OK (needed a bit of upgrading) . Would have been better off paying more to be closer to the water. Had a kitchen. No A/C, but we knew that when booking. Was quite hot in the room. The pool was across the main street, Poipu Rd. Pool was nice. Centrally located in Poipu. Did the job but would likely stay down the road next time.

With small kids: Smith's Luau was fun, as was the Na 'Āina Kai's “Under the Rainbow” Children's Garden. Also, "Baby Beach" was a short distance driving from the hotel. The Poipu shopping village was close- good for the free hula and fire dancer shows.

Very disapointed, didn't get any sleep or relaxation there.

I was so exited to stay at this condo, I was so disaponted when I saw my unit. We were right next to the highway and they don't have windows only wooden shutters you can hear everything. The roosters wake you up every day at 4am. Our unit was so outdated the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the unit felt like a basement. The pool is across the hwy and has been left unkept, I could not tell the last time it was cleaned. The staff is nice and very attentive, but because of my condo I will never stay there again. There should be standards that the owners should have to update once in awhile.

Had a great time at this hotel, close to ocean. Snorkeling was terrific. Watched whales all day long from the beach at the hotel. Facilities and accommodations were excellent and if I return, I will definitely stay at this hotel.

Great location

We were only here one night, so it was a little pricey considering we did not take advantage of any of the resort's ammenities. The room was quite nice with decent furniture and care -- not 5 star, but didn't expect that. The location was great for getting around the island, although our unit was near the road, so quite noisy, especially the trucks early in the morning. Friendly staff.

Be sure to see Waimea Canyon and Poipu Beach. The biking and hiking around Hanalai are great. Try the bike ride down Waimea Canyon -- Outfitters Kauai is located just a short trip from the resort.

Ok but noisy

We only spent one night here between other reservations so did not use any of the site's offerings. Our unit was near the road so noisy. Ample space for 2. Decent not wonderful. Clean but has some wear.

Great place!

The Kiahuna is the perfect place. It is close to everything and far enough to be private. The beach is about as nice for swimming and snorkeling as it gets. The shopping across the street is typical of tourist locations but has everything you need. The staff were all kind and accommodating. The only issue was with the cleaning - we had to sweep everyday due to the sand and the place was never mopped while we were there (11 days). The grounds were well kept and there was never annoying noises from the grounds staff equipment. The rooms size is large, the equipment was new and well stocked with cooking utensils. We fully intend to go back again next year to the Poipu area and would seriously consider this operation again.

check with yelp for restaurant reviews in the area. most detailed very inconsistent comments that are concerning when spending $25-40 for an entree. Go to the Big Save in Koloa for groceries and hit the farmer's markets that rotate the area.

Average condo

The hotel is in Poipu beach area, which is a nice area for beach access and local exploring. The hotel itself is pretty average though. Room and furniture are a bit running down and the main office is very small and limited. The swimming pool is on the other side of the road far from the residence area. There are a few ocean front building facing grass and face that look pretty comfortable. We might consider staying there if we come next time. All in all, it is an average hotel in a good location where you sleep and rest.

Fantastic R and R

The Kiahuna Plantation is a wonderful location, quiet and with great garden views. We were awakened each morning to the sounds of birds and the ever present roosters. We would definitely stay here again.

Pefect Honeymoon/Getaway

This place was so nice. It didn't have all the hoopla that surrounding resorts had, but you're in KAUAI!!! You don't need someone bringing you a Mai Tai, just look around. The beautiful upkeep and closeness to the beach is all you need. Plus the have a stand by the beach for many water activities you can set up. It's close enough to many tourist attractions. Also, you get to drive thru the Tree Tunnel most times you leave the Poipu area. Highly recommend to enjoy the comforts of Kauai fro the comforts of Castle Kiahuna Beach Bungalows.
