Fabulous experience, beautiful hotel!

If you want a true beautiful Hawaiian experience, you need to stay at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel! The grounds are impecabily groomed and blooming. The location stunning! Staff could not have been nicer, or more professional or helpful and very accomodating. Every restaurant was good to excellent and great service. Tasty libations and of course nothing is cheap, but one definitely gets what you deserve. The Spa, very Zen and romatic with a wonderful Hawaiian twist. The Luau is not to be missed, historial and educational in nature with wonderful traditional dancing, great island foods and tropical libations..fabluous! The pools and beach, coastal pathway and the sacred fishing ponds were amazing. Favorite activities of mine! There is something for everyone and done in and with such, Hawaiian elegance. The only place to stay, in my book. Aloha

Yup, it's paradise!

Everyone says this place is the best, and at first, I thought maybe it was a little overrated. But as we settled into our stay, the subtleties of what make this property great became increasingly apparent. You don't have to leave - ever - well, maybe for some food. You have ocean, pool, activities, tennis, golf. The resort was thankfully NOT crowded; it seemed incredibly peaceful. Staff was always helpful and friendly. I'm already trying to book another trip back!

Beautiful wedding

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was really nice. My only complaint is that everything was really expensive while we were there. It is a super great place but bring lots of money, especially for food and drinks.

Lovely "resort"

It was gorgeous, private, on the beach - everything we wanted! It was a good end to our vacation - a good "relax in luxury" kind of spot. The pool was amazing! The only done fall, and it is a resort, everything you bought (food, activities, beach chair rentals, spa...) was outrageously expensive. A small sushi meal cost us $90, a facial at the spa was $160 on the low end, and to rent a beach chair was $60 per chair per day. It is a resort and it is secluded - so it's just a matter of what's important to you. The staff was great, atmosphere was great! If you had kids they had multiple activities for them separate from adults.

There was a shopping complex with a grocery store less than 1 mile from the resort if you were looking on ways to save. Right across from the grocery store is a juice/coffee place with the best ice-blended banana mocha ever!

I expected more

The staff is friendly and courteous. The setting is lovely. The room smelled of mold and it was most evident when the air conditioner was on. There was black mold around the moldings in the bathroom. Unlike the luxury hotels on Oahu, they charged for everything. Few umbrellas by the pools- none at the beach- to encourage $45 shaded lounge rentals I guess. The hot dishes were lukewarm to cold at the breakfast buffet.

The Japanese restaurant, Monstera, in the shopping center charges half what the Fairmont venue does. Silver Oak Alexander cabernet was $68 vrs $136. The food was quite well prepared.
