Deluxe Waikoloa hotel with championship golf and beachfront dreamscape
Melt into tropical bliss at the 32-acre beachfront Fairmont Orchid Hawaii, in the upscale South Kohala community of Waikoloa. Situated on an aquamarine lagoon traced in sugar-white sand and coconut trees, guests need not ever leave the property to find paradise. Ten tennis courts, a 36-hole championship golf course and outdoor massages by a waterfall or the ocean offer plenty of ways to unwind.

You never have to leave the resort
The hotel is beautiful and is one of the few places on the big island with direct beach access. The hotel has a lagoon where you can snorkel, paddle boat, canoe. They rent all the gear at the hotel, so you never have leave the resort. The resort caters to luxury travelers but is also very kid-friendly.

The Pirate
Luxury in Paradise
Top class hotel with everything you could want for a luxury holiday in paradise. A car though is essential to access local amenities as well as to explore the delights of Hawaii (The Big Island). The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds are amazing. Don't miss the sea turtles that come ashore on the sea front of the hotel.

Outstanding!
The Fairmont Orchid was wonderful! A friend had been in Kona on business and had stopped at the hotel to check it out. She told us it was everything she had heard it to be, and when we arrived, we found it certainly was. Very peaceful and restful. The grounds are beyond gorgeous. The restaurants are terrific. It was a wonderful vacation!

Highly recommend the Hawaii Forest and Trail stargazing tour! They provide the parkas - but make sure you pack socks! It's cold at that elevation!

Great Hotel and service. The beach at the hotel is fantastic and had great snorkelling views of fish and turtles. They provided hospitality room for changing and shower on late check out (this was really great) Does not charge for parking wich is really nice. Only complain there is a daily fee for the wireless internet

Luxurious Relaxation
This is my second stay at the Fairmont Orchid and it was perfect, again. The accommodations are first-rate, and the vibe is relaxed and professional. The staff is friendly and helpful, from the valets to the concierge to the wait staff in the restaurants and at the pool and the beach. Additional amenities can add up but the room rate is a bargain.

It was too late for lunch and too early for dinner at Merriman's, a restaurant in Waimea that had gotten great reviews, but behind Merriman's, out of view from the main drag was Pau, which turned out to be the best meal of the trip. The setting is casual and you actually order your food at the counter and a wait person brings it to your table, but the food was fresh and organic and prepared beautifully and there was a respectable wine list. Pau had perhaps the best margharita pizza I've ever eaten.

Turtles! Turtles! Turtles!
The hotel grounds are gorgeous, the rooms were very spacious, and the staff were all wonderful. The hotel pool was large and nice, but the highlight is definitely the beach area! The hotel beach is a perfect little cove with calm crystal clear waters. The coral wasn't spectacular but the marine life was still teeming and vibrant and made for a great snorkeling site. On top of the many varieties of fish, there are lots of turtles that feed and rest there, it was amazing to see so many up close!

Love this hotel and property
From the moment we walked into the lobby, our vacation was perfect! The staff, hotel and grounds are wonderful. Every one of the hotel employees was friendly and helpful. The rooms were updated, clean, and had very comfortable beds. I would definitely come back for another vacation. I highly recommend this property for a relaxing get away. You don't even have to leave the grounds for anything...it's all right there. We went to the King's Gathering Luau, and were blown away by the delicious food, and excellent entertainment. It was the best luau we've been to in the islands (and we've been to lots of them). And again, you don't have to leave the resort to see it. Wonderful place!

The breakfast buffet in the Orchid Court is fabulous! They have a wonderful selection of fresh fruits, island cuisine, and omelete station, not to mention the freshly baked pastries. It was a delight to get up in the morning and walk to such a wonderful breakfast!
