Excellent couples retreat

Would recommend Sat, Oct 24, 2015
The private setting on Hapuna Beach and attentive staff make this a great place to stay on the Big Island. If you are looking for a quiet getaway to recharge, this is the place! My only minor complaint is the spotty WiFi, but as we spent little time in the room, it was not a big deal. We will definitely be back!

Family wedding trip

Would not recommend Tue, Oct 6, 2015
We stayed the weekend at hapuna prince. It was an awkward drive getting to the hotel got confused between the hapuna beach road and next right turn is the hotel road. Nice big stone wall that you drive all the way around in a u turn cross the highway and end up right next to the beach again. The valet did not come and help us without us asking them to. The check in lady was nice and friendly and accomidating. Gym wasn't 24 hours. Our room was very allergenic pillows were nasty smell. Not clean. Sheets were couple days not washed. Looks like thwy jus tidywd the room that hasnt been occupied last minute for ua. Only the towels were clean and fresh. Bathroom sink and tv were nice. Room was a bit small. We had 2 beds for the kids and us. Lady was nice to come fill our bucket with us wen we reached our hotel. Bit awkward room levels could get lost. Ur paying for the Beach view oceanfront more then a beautiful hotel. Bit out in the middle of townlife. But accomidating with activities golf pool swimming beach snorkeling. Food was not great. But standard. Overall it was nice. But not great. Thanks

Anniversary Trip

Would recommend Tue, Sep 15, 2015
We stay at the Hapuna every September and have had very good experiences every time. They started to host the Hawaii Con last year and that is probably the only down fall of the trip. What was considered a prime resort for relaxing without the tourist overload has now become a tourist trap.

Beautiful Hotel on Great Beach

Would recommend Wed, Jul 15, 2015
The Hapuna Prince was a beautiful hotel on a gorgeous beach. Next time we would splurge for a room closer to the ocean, but the pool and grounds were lovely and the staff was great.

Excellent as always

One thing that came to mind while there - if you get a garden view room on the ground floor - good possibility of seeing an occasional cockroach and flying insects in the room.

could be much better

Would not recommend Tue, Dec 9, 2014
Hotel/resort is in a great location - excellent beach, view, and weather. Staff seem a bit curt at times but that could be the local way of life compared to the obscenely smiley American customer service. For a hotel/resort catering mostly to non-locals, they lack a restauran/bar that is open past 8:30 PM. Near by restaurants (about 5 miles aways) close at 9 PM and 10:30 PM. I am also not sure if they have a proper place serving lunch at the hotel. The most annoying aspect of this hotel and probably all other hotels is that they prefer to charge for parking, breakfast, wireless on top of the already high daily room rents. I really do not see the point of it. Why not bundle up all of them into one and make the customer feel better when they are at the hotel?

average getaway

Would not recommend Sun, Nov 23, 2014
We enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great views of the ocean. Staff checking in were rude and gave us a room as far away from the conference we were attending as we could be. Gave us terrible directions on how to get to our room at midnight. Other staff were much friendlier. The food was ok. Beaches were clean and fun. Snorkeling was fair but waves too rough most days so couldn't see as good. Years past it was excellent when water was calmer. Parking garage was ok but they charge $15 a day...should be free. Wireless internet also additional fee which seems absurd.

Love the Big Island and Hapuna Beach

Would recommend Thu, Nov 13, 2014
This was our 4th stay in the last 8 years and it was wonderful. We even got the same room that we stayed in the first time. This is the best location on the best beach on the Big Island of Hawaii!

Dining

Seafood Bar just up the road. It's a locals hangout with yummy food! Another good restaurant near the Seafood Bar is Cafe Pesto.
