Centrally located in the town of Kaunakakai, Caslte Molokai Shores keeps you close to the local markets and shopping boutiques while still giving you a peaceful place to come home to. These oceanfront condominiums are situated on beautiful grounds, where you will be surrounded by manicured lawns and dramatic views. The large grassy courtyard is perfect for picnics, providing you with barbecue stations and tables. You will also find several lime trees on the premises, so feel free to spice up your salsa, enhance that grilled fish, or add some tart to your lemonade.

Castle Resorts will provide mid-stay housekeeping service for stays that are 7 days or longer, which includes changing of linens and towels, vacuuming, and cleaning of bathrooms as well as kitchens. As a result, this property will not be offering daily maid service in lieu of this mid-stay clean. Guests who are staying less than 7 days can purchase additional housekeeping services at nominal costs. Extra towels and amenities will be provided in each unit prior to check-in. Guests can request for replenishment of the bath amenities (shampoo, soap, toilet tissues) at any time without charge. There will be a small fee for the replacement of towels/linens.

Good for the family

We enjoyed our stay very much - were able to change rooms when the first was not quite what we expected - pool and beach were lovely - second room did not have as much in the way of kitchen supplies as the first but overall was a good "home base" while we explored the beautiful island of Molokai.

Most places in Kaunakai close early so be sure to stock the kitchen if you want late night snacks.

Good base to explore Molokai

As noted before, this "hotel" is actually a condo complex with individual owners who rent out. Our condo was pretty worn, though adequate. Other family members had a renovated condo that had fairly nice appliances, furniture, etc. Cleanliness wasn't the greatest. However, the bed was comfortable, and the linens fresh and clean, and it was a perfectly good base for exploring the island.

Relaxing with a Great View

Molokai is an island that has a lot to offer the traveler who wants to get away from the hustle and the bustle of regular tourist locations. On Molokai, one is forced to sit back and relax and enjoy the view. The Molokai Shores provides that opportunity. The condominiums are individually owned and individually furnished and have a warm and homey feel about them. They have everything necessary for cooking and entertaining while enjoying a great view. Sitting on the balcony of the units and being mesmerized by the swaying palm trees and the ocean view is what is on offer at breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as during many other hours in between. This is one great place to relax.

A special once in a lifetime

The staff at Castle Molokai Shores was very gracious. It could use some renovation and probably a good cleaning. Carpet was dirty and we cleaned the bathtub. Kitchenette was adequate and clean. Due to the location and limited supplies - most is understandable.... enjoyed staying in the condo. They could use a coffee shop and snack bar.

As is, it is a good place for construction crew to stay.

Has maintenance issues. Light and overhead fan switches not working. Needs a "facelift", ie renew carpet. Headboard was not secured to anything and flops against mattress. Lever on shower spout that directs water to the shower head did not work properly. Could not adjust the speed to the overhead fans. FYI, there is no daily maid service. However, the staff was excellent.

Molokai Drive In did a good job for breakfast. The pizza place (forgot the name) was good for dinner.

Good central location on Molokai

The first item of importance at this particular condominium complex is that each unit is furnished and maintained by an individual owner. Some are substantially more comfortable and complete in their providing of amenities than others and you do not discover the difference until you arrive. Our particular unit was perported to provide a queen size and two single beds. In reality it became a queen and a convertable couch. There was no air conditioning and the ceiling fan in the living room was inoperative (this was replaced w/o a hassel on the third day of our stay) There was no maid service so you launder your own towels and sheets at $1.50 per load ($.50 for 15 min drying) and there was no hair dryer or stand alone fans which are a necessity on the hot, dry side of Molokai. The staff is great, friendly, and very helpful while you are attempting to survive. The view and grounds are gorgeous, and the parking convenient. Once we adapted, we enjoyed our stay, no matter how primative.

The Cook Shack in Ho'olehua, seating max 20, best and most varied fare on the island from hambergers to Monte Cristos. Check with the locals for meals in Kaunakakai. Remember that cash predominates here, plastic is not always accepted in shops, pizza joints, and markets. And that everything you might require is within 2 miles of Kaunakakai. It's beautiful..the way Kauai was 50 yrs ago

The good (view) the bad and the filthy!

When we checked in, we were faced with a rude staff. Upon entering the condo, a sign on the door requested we take our shoes off. What a joke!! The place was a dump; stained bedding, broken mattress, broken furniture and filthy, disgusting bathroom. We complained to the management, who was sympathetic and upon learning that we were going to sleep in the pool chairs, offered to change our room. (previously we had complained to the on-site unit manager who said there were no other rooms available)We did have a room change, which was very slight improvement, but anything was better than our first unit. Great stay. The property is beautiful

This is not a hotel, but a condo complex that rents peoples places. The apartments are larger then your typical hotel room and all have full kitchens. The complex is literally right on the beach. The grounds are very nice, but the thing that is really remarkable are the sunsets.
