Paradise

I have never experienced such a friendly atmosphere in my entire life. The Ritz staff treats you like family as soon as you check-in. At least 50% of the staff remembered my name by the 3rd night. The views are SPECTACULAR. Pools are welcoming. Rooms are cozy. Skies are clear. Mai Tai are stiff. What more can you ask for?!!!!!

Honeymoon

Words truly can't describe our stay at the Ritz in Maui. It truly doesn't get any better. The entire time we stayed we kept pinching ourselves to make sure we were away. The view is breathtaking, the service unparalleled and the accommodations very comfortable. We are looking forward to returning soon!

Great hotel in the wrong place

Pros: Beautiful hotel, attentive staff, nice swimming pools, great kid programs. We got a Residential Oceanview suite and it was nice. The hotel is perfect except for the fact that it is in Kapalua. Cons: We went in December and it was windy and rainy all of the six days we were there. Also, the hotel is not a beachfront property - you have to walf some distance to get to DT Fleming beach or Kapalua Beach. If you have kids go to Wailea instead.

Couples Getaway

Overall the hotel cleanliness and facility were fantastic. It is an absolutely gorgeous property and was a nice getaway from the more populated areas of Maui. Kapalua in December is rainy and windy- be aware. The service at the hotel is the reason why I rated the value of the hotel low. The valet and check in desk staff were very nice and personable; however, the concierge staff and the room service staff were way underpar from what a "Ritz Carlton" should offer. For example, when trying to book a zip lining company, I was referred to Kapalua Adventures. Upon finding out that they were booked I asked to call Pi'iholo Ranch. The response I got was "we don't work with their company so you need to call yourself." I personalky worked for the concierge department at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and no matter where the guest wants to dine or book a service, you would assist in making that reservation on their behalf. Second, when asking for a restaurant reservation, all we received was a sheet of paper with restaurant names and the general area of Maui it was in. No phonenumbers or addresses or directions- it was very impersonal. We ordered an in room movie package from Room Service that included 2 sodas, fresh bag of popcorn, , 2 m and m candies, a snickers and a gummy bear with a complimentary movie. When ordered they instructed us to wait to order the movie and until they arrived. When the room service attendant arrived he forgot the movie voucher. Then he said he didn't know how to redem it and referred us to the front desk to get help. They also forgot the snickers and gummy bears. When I called down to room service and informed them that we were missing more items from the package, she said "ok bye" and hung up the phone. Again, the exact opposite from what i expected from the Ritz Carlton. This was my first experience at the Ritz Carlton and it was just average. I've stayed at the Four Seasons Lana'i in the past and they were impeccable. Highly recommend staying there.

Maui holiday

The hotel is gorgeous but the limited dining options bothered us a bit and was surprising for a high end hotel. The location is very, very windy, which makes beach use not that pleasant -- the pools make up for it, but the beach would be nice too. The concierge staff were exceptionally helpful.

Excellent but windy

This was a fantastic resort hotel in a beautiful location. The amenities were great and the staff overall was excellent. We did have to call concierge two or three times with requests for utensils and to fix the lamp. Other than that the staff was excellent. Free pineapple slices were provided poolside. Be advised that Kapalua is on the north end of the island and is subject to some pretty strong winds and more rain than other parts of Maui. Otherwise the hotel was perfect.

What a Wonderful Experience!

My very 1st visit to the Hawaiian Islands couldn't have been spent at a better hotel. We booked our trip using an online travel site and everything was so easy for start to finish. We got the airfare, rental car & hotel for a steal (7 nights/8 days)!!! The hotel was beautiful & the staff truly reflected ambiance of a luxurious experience. I would definitely reccommend this hotel & would love to stay there again!

We're coming back!

We loved our stay the the Ritz in Kapalua. This was our first time to Hawaii and we really had no clue how to plan this trip. We called the hotel over and over asking questions and getting information about the island. They were helpful every time; even before we reserved the room. Everyone at the hotel was terrific. We LOVED our room and the property is beautiful. It's also in a great location. You can access all the "To DOs" in Hawaii like SCUBA and Cruises while still feeling like you're staying in a remote resort. We already decided we're going back next year. Loved it.
