Kai Sushi
Kai Sushi fuses the island's freshest and finest grade sushi and sashimi with authentic ingredients, and sophisticated presentation. Immersed in an eclectic ambiance, guests can interact with award-winning Chef Tadashi Yoshino and savor his one-of-a-kind Japanese-inspired culinary delicacies while sipping the finest sake' wines. The restaurant's design is inspired by the story of the native Hawaiians' arrival across the sea, with hand-carved ceiling beams that recall the shapes of the outrigger canoes. The glowing back of the sushi bar and carved wood columns are inspired by traditional Hawaiian art forms in print. The warm tones of wood, woven grasses, honed plaster and gold-hued stone set a natural tableau for the bright colors of the fresh sushi delicacies. Kai Sushi is open for dinner Thursday through Monday and features more than 20 varieties of the most popular types of sushi and sashimi and innovative Japanese cuisine.
The Alaloa Lounge
Named "Best Lobby Lounge" on the island by the readers of Maui No Ka 'Oi, The Alaloa Lounge offers an extensive menu of specialty cocktails, domestic and imported beers, premium spirits and signature appetizers and desserts. The Alaloa Lounge offers a casual lunch and appetizer menu. With its breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, The Alaloa Lounge is the place to view the Maui sunset, enjoy an informal lunch or, from December to April, enjoy whale-watching. The market is conveniently located within the hotel on the lobby level, and offers grab-and-go coffee, homemade pastries, cereals, salads, sandwiches, soups and more. Additionally, fresh juices and smoothies are blended to order using fresh, local ingredients. Aina Gourmet is open daily from 5:30am to 2:30pm.
The Pool Bar & Cafe
The Pool Bar & Caf offers tropical drinks, smoothies, appetizers, sandwiches and salads at the bar or served to the guest's chaise lounge. Twice daily, the pool servers present complimentary fresh Maui pineapple to guests. If you are lounging in the pool, don't worry about being left out; the servers will enter the water fully dressed to serve you. Lunch is served daily from 11am to 5pm with cocktails from 10am to 8pm. Casual light fare dinner is available Sunday and Monday nights only from 5pm to 8pm.
The Beach House Restaurant
Sip on tropical delights while enjoying the waves, surfers and sometimes, the whales. More than 40 fully-grown coconut palms form a natural canopy over this beachfront restaurant where guests delight in a selection of tropical cocktails and fresh, light fare for lunch.
The Terrace
The Terrace restaurant offers the ideal, tropical setting to start your day. Sip coffee and indulge in a myriad of breakfast choices from a bagel and fresh fruit to delectable macadamia nut pancakes while taking in sweeping resort and ocean views. Taste the local flavour each morning with a different, complimentary smoothie sample. Plantation-inspired design with green and gold and textured fabrics reinforce the connection with the landscape. The Banyan Tree
Embark on a culinary journey while taking in spectacular sunset views from this open air, ocean view restaurant and lounge. The Banyan Tree features farm-to-fork concepts highlighting locally sourced ingredients, including those from the hotels abundant organic garden. Great Christmas Vacation!

What a great service this hotel provided for our family. But the location is too far from Hileakala Volcano or other famous places in Maui

Not what I expected from the Ritz Carton

From the Ritz Carlton you expect a 5+ rating experience. When we arrived for the weekend stay that was cut short due to weather issues at our departure point, we expected at least a view of the Ocean from our room. Well if you go to the balcony and lean crane your neck you can see the Ocean. This would be OK if the hotel was full, but not OK when they spent 20 min selecting a room with a good view for us at checkin. My expectation was something above and beyond. What we got was OK. For an OK experience we could have stayed at the Hyatt ! The issue for me was that when we did complain we were "Sorry, nothing we can do now". Once I went to the front desk and complained the lady where took off some of the charges. But all in all I can say that similar problems at the Fairmont had a totally different response that made me want to go back every time. Having said that the Sushi restaurant was excellent and the service there was excellent too. There was not enough value for me, I would not go back again.

Don't waste your money

Concierge is AWFUL!!! They recommended the WORST restaurants. Air Conditioning was broken. It Rained the entire time but everywhere else on the Island was bright and shinny. The beach at hotel is very small, and waves are too strong to swim, you have to leave hotel to go in Ocean. Food was AWFUL and over priced for what it was.

Great restaurant staff

Very nice staff and manager in Kai sushi!!! My kids wanted to eat noodles the first day we arrived, but the room service items were all cold and basic, we went to lobby to look for foods, the staff (lady) in front door of Kai sushi and her manager did provide warm help to check all the restaurants in the hotel, even we did not get the wish food, but sincere appreciated their help.

Great Destination Resort

If you're good with the price and have a ton of money to spend, the Ritz is where its at. great location, great view. I recommend eating away from the hotel. For two of us, we spent $150 on breakfast that was good, but not spectacular. Don't get me wrong, this place is amazing, but you're going to spend a pretty penny on everything, not just your room cost. It's also a bit off the beaten path, so if you want to stay at the resort the whole time, it's good, but if you want to see central Maui, it's at least a 45 minute to an hour drive just to get into town. This place is amazing and beautiful, 2 PGA golf courses, beach access, amazing pool, etc., but only really practical if you're loaded and don't mind spending a ton of money. Would be really cool if the Ritz offered some sort of military discount.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Go to Lahaina, Napili, or pretty much anywhere else on the island for everything. Stay here for the pool and the beach, but food and entertainment will break the bank if you stay at the resort.
