Overview

Waipouli Beach Resorts & Spa Kauai by Outrigger spreads over 12.6 acres with a 300,000-gallon fantasy pool in the heart of it. Units range from hotel rooms to two-bedroom vacation condos, located in seven low-rise buildings across an expanse of manicured lawns dotted with pools, waterfalls and slender palms. Waipouli Beach Resorts & Spa Kauai by Outrigger opened in 2007 and has a decidedly upscale look and feel, exemplified by the use of exotic wood and imported stone in accommodations. The Building Industry Association of Hawaii recognized the resort as a Parade of Homes "standout."

Location

Centrally located on Kauai's east coast between Kapaa and Wailua, Waipouli Beach Resorts & Spa Kauai by Outrigger is just a 40-minute drive to Princeville or Poipu, giving guests easy access to the north and south shores of Kauai.

Rooms

Condos at the Waipouli Beach Resorts & Spa Kauai by Outrigger have a distinctly upscale vibe created by rich Indonesian woods and Peruvian travertine accents. Granite countertops and top names in appliances in the full kitchens -- Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Fisher/Paykel, among them -- set a level of luxury and quality likely to appeal to discerning guests. Condos range from 898 to 1,853 square feet, giving families room to move. A few hotel rooms are also available, adding convenience for wedding parties and other groups traveling together. Maid service can be requested for a fee.

Property features

Walk out onto Kauai's longest beach, a three-mile strand of creamy sand where vacationers can stroll or sun to the rhythms of the rolling Pacific. Among the amenities at the Waipouli Beach Resorts & Spa Kauai by Outrigger are a 4,000-square-foot spa where visitors and locals choose from a full menu of massages, facials and other indulgent treatments, and a restaurant with a focus on locally grown, organic produce and fresh fish (open happy hour and dinner only). A small fitness center open 24/7 keeps workout junkies happy. Guests who want to create their own local dishes can use grills on the property and shop for groceries just across the street.

Awesome Location

Would recommend Tue, Sep 22, 2015
Everything was wonderful. Travelled with my family of 5 (children ages 14,12,7). Security guard, older man who was helping with the waterslide) was wonderful to my son with Autism. Only downside was dishwasher kept breaking down, otherwise everything was AMAZING!

Great trip together with the whole famil!

Would recommend Fri, Jul 24, 2015
Hotel location was perfect. Shopping centers and supermarkets were walking distance. Hotel staffers were very friendly, professional and promp to tend to our needs. The pool and spa was relaxing/awesome for the whole ohana! One slight drawback, the unit we stayed in, the AC keep shutting off when we were in the room. But, all in all, we had a great time.

awesome couples trip

Would recommend Tue, Jul 21, 2015
We stayed here for 9 nights and absolutely loved the place, there was something for all ages. The rooms were well kept up and very modern, up to date. I enjoyed seeing the seals off the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the concierge who helped us booked fabulous tours.

Perfect for large family

Would recommend Thu, Jan 15, 2015
This place worked great for our family of 5 with 3 young kids. Pool area was large and diverse. There is a grocery store complex directly across the street. Washer and dryer in the room, along with full kitchen. You clean your own room unless you want to pay an additional fee. The location is perfect for exploring all the best parts of the island.

great family getaway

Would recommend Wed, Sep 17, 2014
It was very roomy and clean. Although our room was partially ocean view, it was nice as nothing was built close to block our sight and it was surrounded by the pretty garden. Every morning, we enjoyed our breakfast by the balcony. The super market, Safe Way, is right across the street, and apart of the high price, it was very convenient. We also found kids life jacket, floats, body boards, etc in the room to use. Last thing is that the restaurant by the swimming pool, Oasis, is very very good too. I highly recommend this place.

Honeymoon

Would not recommend Thu, Sep 11, 2014
When I looked up romantic hotels for my honeymoon, this place came up at the top of the list. So I booked it excited to go once I saw the pictures online. I didn't realize people live there all year long, so they have some heavy rules about using the pool and other things. For one the lazy river which I was excited about so I could relax, was nothing more than some curves in the pool you could only walk in. We got yelled at for bringing in a blow up raft to float in and the lazy river ends, so it doesn't go in a circle. The view was amazing and the place was nice, but the furniture was uncomfortable to sit in, it made it so unrelaxing I couldn't believe it.

Attractions

Go to Poipu for snorkeling. There are so many fish and they swing right next to you. Also it has some shopping and great breweries to visit.

Fantastic family getwaway

Would recommend Wed, Aug 27, 2014
Great experience during trip with 2 toddlers. Booked a 2BD suite and they upgraded us to garden view. That was really nice surprise. The location is great and you can easily explore the whole island from Kappa. Safeway and Starbucks are right across the street and so are some of really great restaurants and coffee shops. Check in process was seamless and quick, this resort does not has room key but rather a code which actually is pretty neat. You don't have to worry about carrying room keys etc. Room s were luxurious, updated with stainless steel appliances, large bath tubs, showers dining area etc. Everything was very clean, kitchen was fully stocked and room even had its own washer and dryer :-) that came in really handy. Pool and water slides were amazing, kids had a lot of fun on those. There are only a few things I would highlight as caution. 1)The beach near resort was great for relaxing and ocean view but not fit for swimming 2) if you get great for mountain view rooms, you would be looking at shopping center on the other side of Road along with mountains 3) There is $12/day resort fee and about $115 cleaning fee that is not widely published and 4) Beaches around 10 mile of Kappa were ok, but not great. you will have to got towards Poipu or Hanalei to enjoy some great snorkeling beaches.I would recommend this resort to anyone staying with family or for a slightly longer trip.

All good but extra costs for cleaning!! And unfriendly stafff

Would not recommend Fri, Jul 11, 2014
We had to pay 80dollar per day if we wanted cleaning of the room. We said 'no thank you' and cleaned ourselves but than at the and of our stay during check-out we had to pay 192! Dollar for cleaning of the room! On top of that they dare to ask us if we would like to moove to a smaller room so they could led our room to more people. We went to have a look at the "full ocean view" room they offerred us but it was very small and didn't have any ocean view....so we diclined that 'offer' and got a very ugly face of the guy behind the counter.... The hotel itself is very nice and well located.
