Resort adds glam to Coconut Coast with fantasy pool and luxury condos
The beachfront resort spreads over 12.6 acres with a 300,000-gallon fantasy pool in the heart of it. Units range from hotel rooms to two-bedroom vacation condos, located in seven low-rise buildings across an expanse of manicured lawns dotted with pools, waterfalls and slender palms. Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort opened in 2007 and has a decidedly upscale look and feel, exemplified by the use of exotic wood and imported stone in accommodations. - Beachfront resort located on Kauai's eastern coast in Waipouli 8 miles north of Lihue airport. Lihue International Airport to Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort: Exit Lihue Airport and turn RIGHT at the first traffic signal onto KAPULE HWY/HWY 51. Continue on HWY 51 until it intersects with KUHIO HWY/HWY 56. Continue on KUHIO HWY/HWY 56 as it crosses the Waialua River Bridge. Continue past Coconut Plantation at Waipouli approximately 1 mile; Turn RIGHT into WAIPOULI BEACH RESORT. Kauai Village Marketplace is directly across Kuhio Hwy from Waipouli Beach Resort.

Nice room, crummy service
The physical furnishings of our 1 bedrm ocean view condo were very nice. The location is only notable for being close to a grocery store. The facilities are nice but quality of service is poor (ie every 3 day cleaning was very superficial and we were refused a request for extra soap or towels with this). Little touches like coffee filters and laundry detergent would have been nice. The pool looks nice but is too overrun with children to be enjoyable for adults. Overall the facility was nice, but we didn't feel it was a good value for the price.

Great resort!
This is a great resort, especially if you have younger children. The pool is awesome and the rooms are nice and large. The beach is pretty, albeit too rocky for swimming but the pool is safer for little ones, anyway. We had a fantastic time here and with a kitchen and in-suite laundry included, there is no need to leave the resort if you don't want to!

Beautiful spacious rooms
Top notch appointments- sub zero frig, Wolfe oven, granite & travertine, great mattresses and baths. Huge 2 bed 3 bath w living area 2 lanai's & balcony. Safeway across the street, well located for travel. The room has everything you need include wash/dryer and 3 plasma tvs. Comparable to a Westin with lots of space & kitchen. Well kept pool 3 sand bottomed jacuzzis water slides outdoor BBQ's and right on the ocean. Koi pond and great gardens. Kapa'a has shopping and restaurants and nothing on island is far. 25-30 min to Hanalei, 20-25 mins to spouting horn & south shore. Lihue airport just minutes. Take a helicopter tour see a few things and enjoy this facility. Really hated to leave and ave stayed at many places. Will be returning to this property!

Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour. Worth every $$. See inside all of Waimea canyon (w/o a 12 mile hike) and No Pali coast even when closed jan-may. This island has so much and is lush. Waterfalls from air are everywhere! Kamaiina. Then go to Hanalei town and drive to po'ipu. We only had 3 days and this made the trip. Try for 5 days or more.

All went well and staff was courteous and helpful. The only problem was not having the computer room open after 4PM. That made for a little inconvenience in trying to print boarding passes the next morning in time to catch our flight. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay.

The Roaming Rushworths
Great Accommodations for a Family
We stayed at the Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort for two nights. The rooms are outstanding, however, be forewarned that a partial mountainview room means a great view of the strip mall across the street, with Safeway being the focal point of your view. When we complained to the front desk about the view, they were very accommodating and were able to move us the next day. The rooms are really top notch. The kitchen is large and spacious with high end appliances. The beds are very comfortable and the furnishings are beautiful. We had our two teenage boys and daughter with us, and they had a blast on the water slides as did my husband and I. The hotel is centrally located to either the South or North shores. We had happy hour at the Oasis restaurant and the truffle potatoes and cold beers tasted amazing. We would definitely return to the hotel again and appreciate their efforts to make our stay enjoyable.

Happy hour and appetizers are excellent. Take a trip to Kee Beach in the Hanalei area and do the hike along the Napali Coast. The views are spectacular and a great experience.

Perfect for families
My husband and I spent 7 days here and had a great time. The rooms are very comfortable and gorgeous. You are seconds away from the ocean and there is a grocery store right across the street. The pool is shallow, but has some fun little water falls and a slide. We found that mostly families with small children stayed here. So if you are looking for a social young crowd atmosphere, this might not be the place. Otherwise, the staff was very helpful with planning excursions. The only thing I was a little disappointed with.... the garden view room is really a view of the parking lot and we had to wait for our room to be cleaned long after check in time. But they gave us a $50. credit to the Oasis restaurant. The restaurant is a good atmosphere, but would give the food 2 stars. Overall we would stay here again, especially when we start a family!!

For an awesome sunset and social night go to Poipu. The Tortilla Republic was very good and great view of ocean and sunset.

The condo provided all the amenities of home. We loved the kitchenette and loved the layout of the condo. It was a good location for all of the activities we had planned for our stay. We highly reccomend kayaking the Wailua River and hiking Waimea Canyon. The views are breathtaking. Our favorite dining spot was about a mile north of our resort. Eastiside restaurant is a must do!
