Budget-friendly hotel overlooks Wailua Beach on the Royal Coconut Coast
Easy on the budget, Kauai Shores, an Aqua Hotel is a newly renovated garden-style lodging overlooking the ocean on the east shore of Kauai. There are not a lot of frills here, but basic vacation needs are nicely met in 200 comfortable rooms decked out in casual island-style decor with air conditioning. The 6-acre property has two pools and puts guests steps from user-friendly Wailua Beach, where activities include swimming, snorkeling, sunning, surfing and boogie boarding. This smoke-free hotel does not have its own restaurant, but the many eateries of Coconut Marketplace are close by.

A central east coast location makes Kauai Shores, an Aqua Hotel a fine base for easy exploring north to Hanalei Town, Princeville and the Na Pali Coast and south to Poipu Beach Resort. Even the rugged western shore, with spectacular Waimea Canyon and Kokee State Park, is a doable day trip.
All rooms at Kauai Shores, an Aqua Hotel can accommodate up to three adults or two adults and two children. Basic amenities include both air conditioning and ceiling fans, a small refrigerator, balcony and tub and shower. All rooms have wireless Internet access (fee applies). Kauai Sands Hotel does not have adjoining rooms or cribs available, but families with young children can request a rollaway bed (fee applies).
Kauai Shores, an Aqua Hotel is a good choice for vacationers on a budget and those who plan to spend most of their time out and about in gorgeous Kauai rather than in a hotel room. The hotel is only a couple of miles from Wailua Golf Course, well under a mile from tranquil Wailua River and just a short walk to the 60-plus shops and restaurants at Coconut Marketplace. A small in-room refrigerator allows guests to have snacks, juice and breakfast items on hand, making it even easier to keep a vacation budget in check. And although many island accommodations, even the most luxurious, do not have air conditioning, Kauai Sands Hotel does.

This place was recently remodeled and was the room we stayed in was quite nice with modern touches. The hotel has beach access and beach chairs. We did not try the free breakfast, but it looked decent for a continental breakfast. Overall, great
location and good bang for the buck
The hotel was old but they remodeled the rooms and it was great. Hotel staff was helpful. If we needed anything the staff was fast at getting what we needed. I cant wait to see the rest of the hotel when they finish the remodel Best part, every
morning we got coffee and a breakfast snack, and sat on the beach watching the sunrise. I will go back, this time with my 7 year old.
The room and hotel itself was run down. It was in a decent location but for the money we could have stayed somewhere a little cleaner. Continental breakfast was pretty silly.. they ran out of most things and it was pretty sad. I would not stay
We enjoyed staying at Kauai Shores very much. We enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and the yoga classes. Beautiful location on the beach right next to a shopping center. My wife and I recommend staying here because it was clean, fun and economical.
The "continental breakfast" was very disappointing - it consisted of a cinnamon roll and bananas. I liked the hotel overall - it was clean and comfortable and a good value for the price, but I was annoyed that they advertise a continental
breakfast (which factored into my decision to stay here) which did not live up to expectations. I only needed a place to stay for the first night I arrived on Kauai, so for me this was just a place to sleep, and it was good for that.
This hotel is in great location, beach is awesome. You can just stay in the beach all the time watching waves. Rooms are clean , garden is nice. Breakfast is not so nice. Banana and donuts but HI is so expensive so what can you expect. I would
enjoyed our stay here.
This hotel was very nice, especially for the price we paid. We stayed only one night before we moved on to a resort for a week, but we would have gladly stayed longer. It is close to the airport, which helped us settle in quickly after our flight.
However, we did have trouble finding it in the dark because of the lack of clear street signs.
Nice location along one of the beaches. A little tough to get onto the main street if you want to go south. The continental breakfast was disappointing, as it only consisted of donuts, croissants, bananas, juice, and coffee. Very small bathrooms,
some floors were uneven, but the front desk associates were very nice. We called the week prior to make sure we received a King size bed, which they confirmed over the phone. When we got there, they had us reserved for two queens. They did fix the mistake but with no apologies. The hotel is located next to some great places to eat, and the city of Kapaa is centrally located on the island. This hotel was one of the cheaper hotels when we booked, so don't have high expectations.
