good stopover
We chose this hotel as a stopover between our 8 hour trip from the mainland and our hop to Hilo. The shuttle service was great. Breakfast buffet met our needs since we were up VERY early and had an early flight out. Since we were jet lagged, we didn't use any of the facilities. Would stay there again.

Small room but clean
The room was small but clean. 2 1/2 feet on one side of the bed and 3 ft on the other. Had to put one suitcase on the desk to have access. The room was clean but the hotel is really not on the beach. The hotel is on the harbor of Kahului. You could swim in the harbor there. They had a free breakfast bufet every day. They had a good dinner bufet which they discounted 50% to guests. It was a good central location and was reasonable but it is not what you think of as a beach hotel. Shopping was near by and the staff was very pleasant. It could have used a coffee pot in the room.

There is a large mall near by for shopping and dining. For nice beaches you would have to travel about 10 miles.

a local person's perspective
WE stayed here on 3 different occasions in Dec ( 1 night, 2 night, and 3 night stays each week). 1st stay, standard room was ok but staff no aloha. 2nd stay, room was not very clean at check in but waitress nice. This last stay, everything was perfect. Room was clean, every staff member was friendly and helpful. Garden view rooms have partial view of beautiful ocean. Shower is very small. Refrig and safe in room. Carpet is dirty if you walk barefoot. Location is wonderful. walking distance to large malls, service station, eating places, and ideal base location for sight seeing. Great promo deal where free breakfast served daily. Full beds seemed smaller than normal full size beds. Secured entry to enter wings.

Go to Sam Sato Restaurant before 10:30 to beat the lunch crowd and enjoy a bowl of dry noodles and cheesburger deluxe sandwich early. My family also likes their stew, spareribs, and pancakes. The wait can be long if you go there closer to lunch time.

Short Stay in Maui
You get what you pay for. It's a great place to stay if you just need a place to put your head down at the end of the day after doing all the touristy activities. Don't expect all the bells and whistles and you won't be disappointed. My girlfriend and I had no major complaints since we booked this at the last minute and got a good rate! A simple bed and breakfast at a great location to the many destinations around Maui.

Better than what I expected
The location was not my favorite, but if you are planning to explore the island rather than spend the day at the Hotel, it is a good option. The price is fair and the rooms are very clean. I would stay there again.
